You were in a daze at work. Hideki kissing you replayed in your head, along with his confession. He didn't ask you to date him. But you felt bad that you couldn't respond to him. He just walked you to the cafe, said goodbye and left.

Sukuna was fuming in his office. He witnessed the whole thing. Jealousy coursed through him. "When I get my hands on her -" He stops himself, knowing nothing good would come of him hurting you. He needed to calm down. He was planning on talking this over with you at home. He wanted to pick you up from work, but he might need that time to calm himself more. If one thing went wrong, he was gonna explode into a fit of rage.

You look over at your friend. "Yumi, what would you do if a friend kissed you and said he likes you?"

Yumi stops what she's doing, looking over at you. "It depends on the friend. If it's someone I'm not close to, I'll just reject them straight up if I don't feel the same. If I'm closer to them, but don't like them back, I guess I'd be honest and try letting them down gently. Of course, if I like them, I'll immediately try scheduling a date with them."

"I see."

She hums, looking you up and down. "Why do you ask?"

You sigh, propping your elbows on the counter and setting your head in your hands. "Hideki kissed me and confessed that he likes me a lot after we walked through the park together."

Your best friend squeals. "This is probably the best news you've ever given me. What did you say and do?"

"Nothing. I wasn't expecting it, and it happened right before work. I never really thought of him that way."

Yumi frowns slightly. "But he's literally the ideal person for you to date. He's got a great personality, he's smart, and you both will be working in the same field. Oh, and you're the same age."

You furrow your brows. "Sukuna is only two years older than us. That's barely a difference."

She rolls her eyes. "Ok, fine. I can't say anything about his intelligence, but his personality sounds horrible from what I heard. And didn't you two just have a fight or something last night? Are you really gonna defend him when there's someone that would never do any of that even closer to you than Sukuna?"

You shrug. "I mean, you know how I feel about Sukuna. One fight won't change that."

Your friend sighs. "I know. Once someone like you falls, there's no chance of moving on with anyone else. But, just think about it. It's still early with you falling for Sukuna, you still have a chance to find someone else before you're completely in love with him. Maybe give Hideki a chance. You'll be the luckiest girl in the nursing department."

You close your eyes, turning away from her. "Wasn't I lucky enough to find a slightly older guy with lots of money that wanted me to be his?"

"You would've still been lucky if he had a good personality and formed an actual relationship with you. I mean, yeah, he helped us get jobs at the hospital I really wanted to work at. But I can only assume he used bad methods to get results. He could've threatened someone. Or, based on him saying he doesn't want committment, he fucked someone in power to get things to go his way."

You clench your hands into fists. "I refuse to believe it was anything like that. He told me I'm the only one he's sleeping with."

Yumi gives a pitying look. "He could've lied. We don't know too much about him. How do you know you can trust him?"

Your voice breaks, opening your eyes and staring at the ground. "He takes care of me. He's gentle. He - he was my first kiss and took my virginity. I really want to trust him."

She watches as your eyes become full of tears. "But he doesn't love you. You'll never get what you want from him."

Tears start rolling down your face. You try wiping them away, but they keep coming. "I know. And it hurts. This is the first time I've felt something like this, and it's just going to remain one sided."

Your friend wraps her arms around you, letting you rest your head on her shoulder. "I know. It's gonna sting until you move on from him. The sooner you consider your options, the sooner you'll feel better. Try not to sleep with Sukuna again. If he forces himself on you, contact me or the police. If need be, we can file a restraining order on him and he'll be forced to leave you alone. Well, maybe a no contact order will be better so he can't even call or message you. Just, whatever you do, don't give into him."

You force yourself to stop crying, taking a step away from her. "I'll try. But... I can't promise that I can help it. It just feels so right to give into him."

Yumi looks into your eyes, a serious look on her face. "You have to resist temptation. It's better for you if you start cutting ties with him."

You sigh, moving away. "I'll see what I can do. I don't make any promises."

She lets out a breath. "That's what I'm worried about. You not making a promise can only mean you're most likely going to do something with him."

You quickly make the drink that was just ordered, being careful to follow the extra instructions this customer gave you. You turn back around with the completed drink, handing it to the customer. "Here you are. Have a nice night."

Yumi stretches. "We're getting ready to close, so things should be slowing down now."

"Hopefully." Your eyes widen as a familiar figure walks through the door, strolling right up to the counter and grinning at you. "Gojo-san."

Gojo bends over, getting to your eye level. "Hey there, beautiful. I'd like one piece of every cake you have available. Ooo, and a hot chocolate sounds good right about now. That's not too much trouble for you, is it?"

You shake your head, trying to keep a smile on your face. "Not a problem." You start grabbing a box to place the cakes in. "You came alone tonight?"

The white haired man chuckles, leaning on the counter and watching you closely. "I would've invited Suguru, but he was swamped with paperwork. And Sukuna was in a foul mood. I'm worried he might've tried killing me if I went anywhere near him." He notices you tense slightly. "Did something happen between you and Sukuna? I know you've been seeing each other every day lately, and I assume you'd know if something was wrong with him."

You slowly close the box, putting a sticker on it to seal it for now. "We had a little argument last night. We haven't spoken since early last night. If something else happened to worsen his mood, I'd have no clue what it could be."

He sighs. "Just... no. I'm not gonna tell you to apologize. I doubt it was you that did something wrong. Be careful. If he's in a bad mood and he hasn't forced himself to calm down, he might take it out on you. Try not to do or say anything that'll put you in danger. Ok?"

You put his completed order on the counter in front of him. "Why are you telling me this?"

"Sukuna seems... fond of you. I'm only giving a word of warning to help make sure my coworker doesn't ruin something that's been keeping him in a good mood. I'd hate to see something bad happen to someone that's so good at taking care fo others." Gojo grabs his box and drink. "Well, thanks for helping me out. I left you a large tip. Good luck with Sukuna tonight, if you actually see him." He leaves.

You blink, looking at where the man disappeared. "Should I be scared or thankful that he gave me that information?"

"I'd be scared if I were you."
