Lissa and Christian both gasped as I saw Lissa reach out for Christian. He took her hand in his and kissed it trying his best to calm and reassure her that she would be safe.

I had noticed that Abe had not given out any of the specific details that he had told me before we got to campus. Concerning what, where how and when things would be done in Turkey. And I was very thankful for that, not because I didn't trust most of the people in this room. But simply because I do not and will not ever trust Kirova with anything even remotely concerning lyubov' moya. I wouldn't put it past her to do anything to hurt lyubov' moya, not even if that meant contacting the strigoi. As for Alto, I have as of yet to make a decision about whether or not to trust him with any information concerning lyubov' moya yet. (my love, my love)

"Why is he planning all of these attacks?" Alberta asked Abe.

"He blames everything that has gone wrong with his family in the last twenty years on Rose. So, he hates her..."

Abe was interrupted with a cruel snarl.

"Of course, you would be the one at fault, you are always getting people hurt or killed!!!" That suka Kirova yelled at Roza moya. (bitch, my)

"Shut the fucking hell up!!!" Almost everyone in the room yelled back at her, including Alto which shocked all the rest of us. And the look on her face was completely laughable.

"Anyway, as I was saying before I was so very rudely interrupted. All of these attacks are being executed to hurt her just as much as possible. By hurting and killing the people that she loves and cares about."

"He shouldn't blame Roza moya for any of it. But he definitely shouldn't blame her for Natalie's death, because I am the one that staked her. And HE is the one that convinced her to become strigoi in the first yeblya place. So, he should be blaming himself more than anyone else. Because he knew the likelihood of what would happen to her if she was discovered." I told Abe, and the others, as I ran my hand over my molnija and promise marks. (my, fucking)

Abe nodded then he continued. "Victor blames Rose for the fact that Sandovsky's disease is going to kill him. And for the fact that he doesn't have Lissa on hand to continually be healing him. He blames her for Natalie's death, he blames her for his incarceration, he blames her because he won't become king. He thought that our laws which keep out single, divorced, or widowed kings. And the fact that the Dashkov's are not even the next in line for the throne would all be removed, pushed aside, forgotten, or ignored just for him. He seems to think that he is just that much better and more important than everyone else in our world. As I said, everything that has, in his opinion, gone wrong with his family for the last twenty years he blames on my little girl."

"But why twenty years though, because Rose isn't even eighteen years old yet?" Yuri asked.

"Because Janine and I met twenty years ago. And apparently, he seems to think that if we had never met then all these things that he thinks have gone wrong over the years, would never have happened. Including but not limited to his contacting Syndovsky's disease."

"But following that train of thought shouldn't he blame either one or both you and Janine and not Rose? Or even the person responsible for the two of you meeting?" Emil asked.

Poor Emil, he was doing his dead level best to make an insane and irrational man's thoughts sane and rational. And that just isn't possible.

"He's insane." Abe, Alberta, Lissa, Christian, Roza and I all said in unison.

"Abe, is it possible that the attack on the Badica family that Art Schonberg was guarding was the start of these attacks?" Alberta asked.

I had to admit that did make sense and babushka had said that attack was the beginning of all of this. I mean Victor had no way of knowing that it would be Roza moya and I who would find the remains of that attack. (babushka, my)

There was just no way that he could have possibly known that that is what would happen. Nor could he have known that the results of that attack would be that the council would send everyone away from the academy for two weeks.

I am still amazed that Roza had been able to be as calm as she had been seeing her family like that. But maybe it was because she didn't know them, if she didn't in fact know them that is.

"Yes, that is not only a possibility but a definite Alberta. Dimitri's grandmother is a seer and she said that it was indeed the beginning of all of this."

Alberta nodded and pointed to Lissa, meaning that she had thought of that.

"That was a very good deduction Lissa, you have learned well I am very proud of you."

"Thank you, Uncle Abe. I learned from the two best minds in the world after all."

Abe just smiled at her and nodded his head, knowing very well that she meant him and Roza moya. (my)

I imagine that Abe had taken Lissa in and under his wing because her family had done much the very same thing for Roza moya. And he wanted to be able to return the favor by looking after Lissa now that they couldn't. Just as they had looked after Roza moya when Abe could not. (my, my)

"Is there any other reason for all of us to be here?" Celeste asked.

"Yes. All of you, minus Alto and Kirova of course, are people that my daughter cares very deeply about... members of her family. And because of that you are all in great danger. The reason that Victor has planned to attack the academy, is because he wants to kill anyone and everyone here that Rose cares anything whatsoever about. Which all but two of you are. So, each of the students and Dr. Oldenzki will receive two guardians each. Each of you guardians, including Alto, will receive one guardian each from my personal guardians. When the guardians that are being sent from court to help guard you arrive, your guardians will double. And you may be assigned more as the date for the attack grows closer."

"But..." Emil began.
