I spoke up myself that time. "She needs someone to argue with besides Christian. And if something were to happen to you who else could she argue with?"

Everyone, except Kirova and Stan laughed. Although Alto did manage a small smile, it was actually just a twitch of his lips, but it was a start at least.

"The other eight guardians are for Dimitri."

They knew that I was lost in those beautiful and beguiling milk chocolate brown eyes that I love and adore so much. They also knew that I have never stood a yeblya chance against them or her. Just as I leaned back up. I heard Yuri mumble to Emil, "at least he finally has the balls to admit it. To himself and to her."

Emil nodded and said, "mmm hmm. And it is about damn time too."

I turned to them tilted my head to the side and raised an eyebrow at them. But they both just smiled like a couple of village idiots.

It was Celeste and Dr. Oldenzki that came to their rescue, as they said as one. "It's true."

I dropped my head back against the back of the sofa and sighed. "I know, I know. I was a goner the very first time that I ever laid eyes on her. And apparently everyone knew it except for me."

Yet again everyone in the room except for Kirova was laughing, even Stan.

"You knew it, you were just doing the stupid thing and fighting it." Surprisingly, it was Stan who spoke up that time.

Everyone looked at him in shock. But before anyone could say anything he spoke again. "What? I am not stupid, an idiot, a moron nor am I blind."

Everyone just shook their heads at him.

"I am not giving Hathaway permission to leave the academy; I don't care if her whore of a mother is dead."
