Year 3000, Earth (India), Universe L2: The Future World and Unown’s Assistance

When Sunny, Uncle Yo, and Golu stepped out of the Situation Machine, they found themselves on the edge of an extraordinary new Mumbai, far removed from the world they had known. The city in the year 3000 was an awe-inspiring maze of futuristic structures and dizzying heights, with buildings that defied conventional architecture. Transparent pathways interconnected skyscrapers, which themselves seemed to float and shift, changing color and shape with an almost hypnotic fluidity. Some structures ascended into the clouds, while others burrowed deep underground, their foundations hidden from sight. The ground seemed to melt seamlessly into the sky, creating a surreal atmosphere that felt more like a digital simulation than a physical city.

Despite its grandeur, an unmistakable ruggedness underpinned the city. Scarcity of resources had transformed luxury into necessity, and the glistening exterior barely masked a deeper sense of struggle. They could see how society had adapted to survive, every innovation shaped by a relentless pursuit of sustainability in a world where resources were precious.

As they moved carefully through this labyrinthine landscape, they stumbled upon an abandoned robot lying near a cracked chemical pipeline. The robot was oddly shaped, resembling an “X” with a large, blinking eye at its center. Its movements were erratic, and it seemed barely functional, twitching and emitting faint sparks. Intrigued, Uncle Yo knelt beside it, reaching into his bag for tools. With a few precise adjustments, he managed to bring the robot back online.

The robot emitted a soft hum before its eye lit up with renewed clarity. A monotone, mechanical voice spoke: “Thank you for your assistance. My name is Unown 4TBTQ, but you may call me Unown.”

Sunny, intrigued, introduced himself and explained their unusual situation, detailing how they had traveled from the past in search of someone very dear. Unown listened attentively, its eye widening with each revelation.

Unown: “I believe I can assist you. But first, it would be safer to discuss this in private. Please, follow me to my owner’s apartment.”

With Unown leading the way, they were directed to a teleportation device, and in a blink, they arrived at a high-rise apartment complex. Here, they were welcomed by Drish, a young but highly skilled technician well-versed in futuristic technology. Drish, upon hearing their story, set up dummy identities for the three travelers in the city’s social database, giving them access to resources and ensuring they could blend into society unnoticed.

As they settled in, Sunny’s curiosity grew. He turned to Unown, hoping to understand the world they had stepped into.

Sunny: “Unown, could you tell us what’s happened to the world over the last millennium?”

Unown’s eye blinked slowly, as if in deep thought, before it began to recount Earth’s long journey through history.

Unown: “In the late 21st century, Earth faced a period of profound crisis. Humanity grappled with critical issues—resource depletion, global warming, and a catastrophic third world war—events that nearly led to extinction. Civilization as we knew it was left in ruins, but those who survived were resilient. By the 22nd century, humanity rebuilt itself, merging science, religion, spirituality, and philosophy into a unified vision for progress. This led to the formation of the World Legislative Assembly (WLA), headquartered in Oxford, which promoted equality and mutual respect, aiming to unify the world through shared responsibility.”

Unown paused, allowing them to absorb this reality, before continuing.

Unown: “In the 23rd century, humans began to colonize the Moon and Mars, and by the end of that century, we established contact with extraterrestrial civilizations. Alliances with these beings propelled Earth into a new era, opening gateways to knowledge and power that reshaped humanity’s future. Then, in the 26th century, a groundbreaking collaboration took place between Gagron, an alien scientist, and an Indian scientist named Dr. Sanshay. They experimented with inter-dimensional portals, which accidentally led to the discovery of a mysterious realm inhabited by creatures known as Pokémon.”
