An aggressive pounding noise coming from the other side of the door is enough to make me crawl to a corner with Juliette and make Adam jump to his feet. The beeps and loud banging warns us that the door is opening, but I don't expect to see what is behind the door.
"GET ON YOUR FEET," one of the guards yells. "PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR AND GET ON YOUR FEET."
Since he was already standing, Adam simply put his hands behind his head. I get lost in my thoughts but quickly pull back to reality when I hear Adam yelling at the two guards who have guns pointed in my and Juliette's directions. Juliette is quicker to her feet than I am, leading to a kick in the gut from one of the guards whose face I cannot see.
"I SAID GET ON YOUR FEET AND PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR," the guard repeated himself. My struggle to breathe is not taken into consideration, which is made clear when one of the two guards–who are now both pointing guns at me–is quick to move to my left side and shove the butt of his gun into a lower region of my back, resulting in a small whimper escaping my lips.
"Well, isn't she a little shit," one of the guards not too close to me says. I struggle onto my feet as I hear other guards speaking to each other.
"She isn't even crying."
"Definitely thought we'd get more of a reaction from her."
Before anything else can happen, the world goes black.

It takes me a few days to wake up. Two days, Juliette reassures me as I look around the small grey room in a groggy and sore state. Her thoughts tell me that Juliette is worried about my current state of drowsiness.
"Where's Adam?" I manage to ask without a wavering voice. Before Juliette answers me, the noises we hear throughout the room enlightens us about the door opening.
As the door fully opens, my jaw hangs in pure shock.
