Solara and Android 18 were in the bedroom to chat, but when Android 18 saw Goku, she stood there gazing at him. She seemed to be fighting her programs as she didn't want to kill him anymore. Then, Solara came back into the room after she left her with Goku to get a couple of drinks for themselves, but Solara stopped as she saw Android 18 just standing there, and Solara felt that Android 18 might still have her programming. Then, Solara closed the door, went over to Android 18 and stood next to her. Solara felt worried that she might not be strong enough to fight her programming, so she got in front of her and reached for Android 18's hand. She brought both hands up to her chest, and then Solara looked into Android 18's eyes. "Mom!..." Solara softly said. But Android 18 couldn't look away from Goku as she couldn't fight her programming. "Mom... Please don't do this... I need him... I had no future with my father! He died before I was born... Please, Mom! Don't give in to your programming... You're not a machine... You're a human being!" Solara said with her voice the sound of pleading and sadness. Android 18 couldn't hear Solara as she shoved Solara out of the way and was about to reach down and kill Goku, but Solara quickly got behind Android 18, locked her arms around Android 18 and held her back. "Mom, please don't do this! You're stronger than this! You are human, not a killer robot! Please don't give in to your programming!" Solara said. Trying to reason with Android 18 and trying to break through with her programming. Android 18 struggled to get out of Solara's grip, but she could tell by the grip that Solara wasn't trying to hurt her. The most she struggled with the picture she took from Goku's home was wiggling out of her pocket, and then after one big swing by Solara. Then, the picture fell out of Android 18's pocket, and it slowly floated down and landed on Goku's chest.

Android 18 looked down at the picture and stopped struggling from Solara's grip. The sight of a happy Solara on her birthday made Android 18's heart ache so much at the happiness as she had tears streaming down her face. Then she felt Solara hugging her from behind and started sobbing as Solara buried her head on Android 18's back. Then, Android 18 looked over her left shoulder to see Solara looking almost destroyed. Then, Android 18 felt that something from her programming showed up as an 'error' in her eyes, and then it went away. Android 18 wasn't sure what just happened, but she looked at Goku again, and she didn't feel anything forcing her to kill him. She felt her own body doing what she wanted as she turned around, hugged Solara back, and held her very close to her. "I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry, Sweetie," Android 18 said. Solara stopped sobbing and looked up at Android 18 from her chest. "What... What did you say?" Solara asked as she wiped a tear from her eye. Android 18 smiled and kissed Solara's forehead. "I said, I'm sorry, Sweetie," Android 18 said and repeated herself to Solara, and then Solara softly smiled and buried her head into Android 18's chest again. "Thank you, Mom... You and Dad mean everything to me," Solara said. Then, both women looked to see the bed, but no Goku. Then, suddenly, they felt the Island shaking as they rushed to the window and looked at where the giant wave was shown. The others rushed out from the living room and saw the wave also. But they were startled by it until everyone saw Goku standing at its base. Solara was happy to see her father up again. Android 18 felt her heart skip a beat as she saw Goku's form, and just seeing how he could make a wave like that really moved her. Chi-Chi and Gohan were happy to see Goku awake. As they were ready to go to him, they heard Solara yell, and the group looked up at the bedroom window. "FATHER!" Solara yelled with her tone, which sounded exciting and happy. Then, Solara jumped out of the window and landed in front of Goku just as he turned around and saw his family and friends and then Solara hugged Goku, followed by Chi-Chi and Gohan, who also hugged Goku, from the bedroom window. Android 18 was watching them being reunited and seeing Solara being happy once more, but she was not sure how Goku would react when he saw her. She floated out of the window and landed just near the family as Goku turned his head to his left and saw Android 18. "Hey! You're Android 18!" Goku said with a happy tone. Android 18 was surprised by his tone as she held her right arm and looked away, feeling bad that she almost made Solara upset for almost killing Goku. Then, Goku walked over to Android 18 as the others watched to see what would happen.
