3rd Person POV
Spaceport
Eyes flying open, Sincline gasped and sat up, a bead of sweat dripping down his neck as his body shook with adrenaline. That memory... what did it mean? he wondered. The way he fought during his blackout, as described by the Primordial Embodiment... There was something off, and he knew it was somehow connected to the memory he had experienced. But how...?
That aside, he couldn't shake a strange feeling of dread that crept down his spine. One that he had felt hours before the Abyssal attack on Beacon City. Does that mean... that there's another attack on its way? he wondered. He could be wrong, and it was just his mind and nerves playing tricks on him... but he doubted it.
Glancing around and scanning the compound to make sure no one was heading his way, Sincline reached into his jacket and pulled out a photo of Team RWBY standing in front of Beacon. They had taken the picture a few weeks before the Abyssal's attack, and while he could have just pulled up a photo on his HUD, there was something... different... about having a physical photo he could hold.
Ruby... Weiss... Blake... Yang... I hope you're all safe, he thought quietly, gazing down at the image of his teammates as his eyes glowed ever so softly in the shadows. This war, this enemy... if I can beat them before they come to Remnant, I will. I won't let you be taken from me... not you, or anyone else. It didn't matter how long it would take him; he'd bring down the Abyssals even if he had to fight them all himself. But... even if it were safer for his teammates to be on Remnant, he still couldn't stop himself from missing them... from missing her.
"Hey, Sincline?" a voice asked, causing Sincline to tense as he realized that he had let his guard down. "You up?"
I've got to stop doing that, Sincline berated as he slipped the photo back into his jacket and jumped to his feet, rescanning his surroundings to identify who was at his door. Cole... of course. "I'm awake," he replied and opened the door. "I'm assuming that Adam wishes to speak with me?" We promised each other answers... it's time that we receive them.
Cole nodded, unable to keep a slight shiver from running down his spine as he recalled how easily Sincline had decimated the enemy. I knew he said he could make swords, but... glyphs too? Just what is he? Even though Sincline had said he was sent by the Lightbringer, Cole couldn't help but feel that there was more to Sincline than meets the eye.
Nodding back, Sincline quickly exited the room, shutting the door behind him... unable to keep back the feeling that it was likely the last time he'd ever see that room.
For a several minutes, the two walked in silence, their boots clicking sharply on the wooden floor as they headed deeper into the base. He's probably taking me somewhere we can have privacy, Sincline thought, breezing through the base's firewalls and scrolling through their security feeds. Adam, Jace, and Mira aren't anywhere else inside the base... meaning they're in a room with no cameras, he realized before running a scan of the entire compound. Only one room in this entire compound where there aren't any cameras... except the bathrooms and dorms. They didn't have any databases except for a shipping log, which likely meant that all their actual information was on paper, or only accessible from a single console. Smart. If someone like me hacks into their mainframe, they won't find anything except what one would expect from 'normal' ship records.
Rounding a bend, Sincline saw the familiar window that marked the infirmary. "How's the girl?" he asked, glancing at Cole out of the corner of his eye. Sincline had slipped her an infusion shot the day before, so she should be awake soon. And hopefully, she doesn't go on a rampage as soon as she wakes up. THAT... would be bad.
