AS IF THE BABY'S CRIES WEREN'T ENOUGH, HEARING RICK'S SOBBING WAS enough to break Nina even further. The brunette held her niece close and her head began to feel fuzzy, all of the sobbing was beginning to become too much for her.
Nina took a deep breath, looking around the courtyard, noticing that Carol and T-Dog weren't there. A pit formed in her stomach, knowing that they didn't survive as she held back another sob.
The brunette was quickly snapped out of her daze when she felt someone tugging on her shirt, so she looked down to see Carl standing there, who was wanting to hold his sister. Nina carefully placed the baby in his arms, immediately feeling the weight disappear from her arms.
Nina watched as Daryl approached her brother, who seemed to be in some sort of his own daze. "Rick, you with me?"
"Let me see the baby," Hershel said as he approached Carl and his sister.
"What are we gonna feed it?" Daryl asked, walking back over to the others.
"We got anything a baby can eat?" Caden asked, peering over Carl's shoulder to look at the baby.
"The good news is, she looks healthy," Hershel said after he finished examining her. "But she needs formula soon, or she won't survive."
"Nope," Daryl shook his head. "No way, not her. We ain't losing anybody else. I'm going for a run," Maggie, Glenn, Caden, and Nina all offered to come, "Okay, think of where we're going. Beth?" he pulled the girl to the side, "Kid just lost his mom. His dad ain't doing so hot."
"I'll look out for him," Beth promised.
Daryl then gestured to Axel and Oscar, "You two get the fence. Too many pile up, we got ourselves a problem," the two prisoners got on the job almost immediately as Daryl looked back at the others, "Glenn, Maggie, Caden, Nina! Vamanos! Get the gate, come on! We're gonna lose the light!"
The four caught up with Daryl as Glenn spoke, "There's a Piggly Wiggly on 85."
"No, the baby section's been cleared," Maggie replied. "Lori asked me to keep an eye out. I haven't had much luck."
"Is there any place that hasn't been completely looted?" Daryl asked.
"We saw signs of a shopping center just north of here," Caden answered.
"Yeah, but there's too much debris on the road," Nina replied. "The car will never get through that."
Daryl looked at his motorcycle, "I can only take one of you."
