The wedding celebrations were nothing short of a dream, and every moment felt like it had been plucked from the pages of a fairytale. The vibrant colours, the sounds of laughter, and the warmth of family filled the air, creating a tapestry of joy and love. For Maria and Omar, it was a celebration of not just their union but also the journey they had taken to get to this point.

The Mehndi Night

The Mehndi night was bursting with energy, as women danced in bright, glittering lehengas and sarees, the rhythm of the dhol resonating through the house. Maria sat in the center of it all, glowing under the soft fairy lights strung across the courtyard. Her green and gold lehenga shimmered as she laughed at her cousins' jokes, her hands steadily being adorned with intricate henna designs.

"Make sure to hide his name in the pattern," one of her cousins whispered to the henna artist with a giggle.

Maria's ears perked up. "Of course?!" she said sheepishly causing the surrounding women to erupt in laughter.

Maria rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress her smile. She glanced at her phone, tucked away nearby, and her heart skipped a beat when she saw a new message.

Omar: "How's my bride? Don't forget to save some dances for me."

Her lips curved into a soft smile, and she replied quickly, "Bride-to-be. Plus it's a women-only event. You're not allowed here!"

His response was immediate.

Omar: "Doesn't mean I'm not thinking about you. Save the best smile for me tomorrow."

Maria's heart fluttered, and she bit her lip to hide her growing grin. Little did she know, her cousins had noticed and started teasing her mercilessly.

The Haldi Ceremony

The Haldi ceremony occurred spontaneously as the free day in between was ending. It was a riot of colours and laughter as family members surrounded both Maria and Omar in a garden adorned with marigold garlands. Maria wore a simple yellow saree, her cheeks already flushed from laughter as her cousins applied turmeric to her face, arms, and hands.

Omar arrived with his family, his twin brother Khaliq, and his friends, looking effortlessly handsome in a white kurta. His twin brother Khaliq had been mostly absent from the love story between Maria and Omar dating back 2 year due to his workload and traveling expeditions. But now, he was back to celebrate the joyous occasion of his brothers' wedding.

Omar caught sight of Maria from across the garden, her laughter lighting up her face, and he couldn't help but smile.

When their eyes met, she narrowed hers playfully. "Don't you dare, Omar!" she warned, noticing the mischievous glint in his gaze.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he replied innocently, walking over to her with a bowl of turmeric paste in hand, only taunting her, of course, he wouldn't actually apply it (it was against the rules).

"Oh my god," she said, unable to hide her smile.

"And you're beautiful," he whispered, his voice low enough for only her to hear. The compliment sent a ripple of warmth through her chest, and for a moment, the chaos around them faded away.

The Nikkah

The Nikkah ceremony was intimate, held in the serene atmosphere of the local mosque. Maria sat among her sisters, her white and gold bridal dress flowing around her like a halo. She glanced up at Omar, who was seated across the room, his gaze steady and warm as he listened to the imam.

When it was time for Maria's consent, the room fell silent. Her heart raced, but her voice was clear as she said, "I accept" three times.

Omar exhaled softly, relief and joy washing over his face as his gaze met hers. When it was his turn, his deep voice echoed in the room, steady and certain.

After the papers were signed, the imam congratulated the newlyweds, and Omar was finally allowed to sit beside Maria. As they shared a quiet moment, he leaned close and whispered, "You're mine now."

Maria turned to him with a soft laugh. "And you're mine. Don't you ever forget that part."

The Reception

The reception was nothing short of magical. The hall was transformed into a dazzling wonderland, with cascading floral arrangements, golden chandeliers, and a stage that shimmered under the lights.

When Maria entered with Omar, the room seemed to hold its breath. She was radiant in a regal gold and warm white traditional Indian outfit with a heavy top filled with gold embroidery, beadwork, and sequin details that gave her a royal and luxurious look. Her lehenga (skirt) was a warm white based, adorned with delicate gold embroidery, matching her top. Her sheer dupatta (veil) detailed with the same gold embroidery was draped over her head and shoulder, complementing her outfit altogether.

Omar looked every bit the dashing groom in his tailored crisp creme sherwani, specifically made to compliment Maria's outfit. The minimal detailing accompanied the detailing to the embroidery and beadwork on Maria's lehenga. Omar wore black sunglasses, giving him an overall stylish compliment regardless of his beautiful face. His black formal shoes completed his polished appearance.

"You're breathtaking," Omar whispered as they made their way to the stage

"You're breathtaking," Omar whispered as they made their way to the stage.

Maria's cheeks flushed, and she looked up at him with a playful smile. "You're not so bad yourself, Leo."

The night unfolded with speeches, toasts, and endless laughter.

Maria's eyes widened in shock when the car prototype they had worked on together was unveiled. She turned to Omar, her voice filled with emotion.

"You remembered," she said softly.

"How could I forget?" he replied, his voice just as tender. "This is our project, our dream. I wanted everyone to see what you've always been capable of."

Later, Omar leaned close, his voice a low murmur against her ear. "Are you happy, Mrs. Khan?"

Maria looked up at him, her eyes shining with love. "More than I ever thought possible Mr. Damarias."

He smiled, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Good. Because making you happy is all I want for the rest of my life."

The wedding celebrations felt like a fairytale come to life, filled with moments that made Maria's heart flutter and left butterflies in her stomach. Surrounded by love, laughter, and the man who had become her greatest partner, Maria couldn't help but feel that this was just the beginning of their happily ever after.
