How to be loved
62 – You have no idea
Freen's POV
I stirred awake in the stillness of the night, my eyes fluttering open as I reached for my phone. A soft ache tugged at my chest—I missed my girlfriend. It had been three long days since we last saw each other. She was buried in paperwork, her schedule so tight that visiting me during my shoot was impossible, and mine was no better. We made do with texts, chats, calls, and video calls, but they weren't enough. I longed for her warmth, her hugs, her kisses, the soothing melody of her voice whispering sweet nothings in my ear.
As my hand stretched toward the nightstand, a weight around my waist stopped me. Confusion flickered through my half-asleep mind until a familiar scent enveloped me—a scent that could only belong to her.
Becky.
A wave of realization washed over me. She must have arrived after I'd fallen asleep, probably asking Nam to let her into my room. My heart swelled at the thought of her sneaking in just to be close to me.
Carefully, I lifted her arm, intending to turn and look at her. But before I could, she tightened her embrace, pulling me closer, her face nestling into the crook of my neck.
"Hmmmm, don't move, baby... let me recharge," she murmured, her voice soft and laced with exhaustion.
My chest ached with affection, and I stayed perfectly still, letting her warmth seep into me. Her presence, so close and tangible, filled the void that had lingered in my heart these past few days. The rhythmic rise and fall of her breath against my back was both soothing and electrifying, a reminder of how much I'd missed her.
But after a few minutes, the yearning grew unbearable. I needed to see her, to feel the sweetness of her lips on mine, to reassure myself that she was really here.
"Babe," I whispered, my voice breaking the silence, "can I turn? I really want to kiss you."
There was a pause, her hold on me loosening slightly as she let out a tired but amused chuckle. "You're so cute," she teased, her words muffled against my skin. Then, she sighed softly, a smile evident in her tone. "Alright, but only because I miss you too."
Gently, I turned in her embrace, and there she was—her face soft with sleep, her hair a mess of gold and chocolate against the pillow. Her eyes fluttered open just enough to meet mine, and that familiar spark I'd been aching for ignited between us.
I leaned in, cupping her cheek as our lips met in a kiss that was as tender as it was desperate. It wasn't just a kiss; it was the culmination of days apart, of longing and love compressed into a single moment.
When we finally pulled away, her smile was sleepy but radiant. "Happy now?" she murmured, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on my arm.
I grinned, pressing my forehead to hers. "Getting there," I said, my voice full of warmth. "But don't think I'm letting you go anytime soon."
She chuckled softly, her breath warm against my lips. "I wasn't planning on going anywhere... not yet, anyway," she whispered, her voice a blend of exhaustion and affection.
I brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, marveling at how even in her tired state, she was breathtakingly beautiful. "You should've told me you were coming. I would've stayed up for you," I said softly, my thumb tracing gentle circles on her cheek.
Her eyes fluttered closed as she leaned into my touch. "I wanted to surprise you. Besides, you needed the rest," she murmured. A faint smile curved her lips, her voice dipping into vulnerability. "But... I couldn't wait anymore. I just needed to be with you."
