I reached my free hand up, it was open and covered by vines and crystals of all sorts. I closed my eyes and made cloud in my hand and shape it into the faint memory of Esmeray. Being able to heal and bend clouds was one thing, being able to control dreams and create shields was another. Yet the power came with a price like always, that was one thing that Luciean had forced into my mind. Every single lesson he repeated that phrase. Healing others meant hurting yourself or someone else, for example cutting open your own robotic body to let the blood spill out and then needing repairs to fix the one cut. My blood didn't work on myself which was quite ironic because it was running through my robotic veins.
I opened my eyes and stared at the cloud in the shape of my brother before crushing it and groaning as I sat upright. I took my hand out of the water and tuned out any sound to only focus on the insects around me, the soft buzzing from their mouths, how peaceful they seemed to be even if people hated them. If only....
I got up and walked out of the grotto and whistled for Celestara, she should have been back by now. She was faster then every other steed. In just a few moments, I heard trotting and neighing sounds as she walks up to me and bowed, letting me ride her. I bowed back before I mounted her, holding her reins tightly as we took a shortcut back to the grotto. It shouldn't have taken long, especially since Celestara wasn't a regular alicorn or horse, she came from a planet named Quartzara. It was a beautiful pink planet yet deadly...everything was poisonous and all the animals needed to suck the life out of one another to live, Celestara was basically a cannibal if you think about it. But she hasn't slaughtered anyone in ages since she chose me to be her owner, it was quite rare for her kind to even bond with anyone in reality. I gripped onto the reins and her basket tightly as Celestara began to ran.
...
After ten minutes or so of running we finally made it back to the familiar grotto, the Silken Haven. I tightened my grip on my basket as I let go of the reins, Celestara started to bring her sprint into a trot. She bowed her head letting me get off her, I got off and held my basket in front of me as she trotted away to the nearby lake for a quick sip of water.
I walked into the front doors of Silken Haven and look around at the occupied beds of animal patients and the soldiers who fought for me in the last fight. I sighed as I set my basket down and took off my cloak which had gained a few tears within the month. As I walked my dress fell behind me, dragging me down as I forced myself upstairs to meet Lunara. She was currently tracing her hand on a map and was clearly lost in thought. Scanning the room I noticed she also had planet maps up, which was brand new but she always had something new depending on what she was studying. I walked up behind her placing my hands behind my back as I spoke.
"Why the planet maps? Are you into astrology now?" I asked softly as I took another step closer.
"No no...astrology is the study of stars, I was studying the planets, for the festival. Surely you've heard?" Lunara turned around to face me. I shook my head—there was a festival? "Oh seriously Mendora, the one where our planets all link up and we worship the guardian of space, that doesn't ring a bell?"
My eyes widened a bit in surprise. Why hadn't anyone told me about that? Every single planet lined up? Surely that was impossible. I couldn't even begin to comprehend it. I scanned the table in the middle of the room, there were even more maps laid out and scrolls. Quills and ink as well. I heard Lunara sigh, my mind snapped back to reality.
"Hm? I stared at her in confusion, hoping for an answer.
She groaned in irritation. "In small words, the dragon Orbitos, also known as the space god, guards many planets, moons and stars. He shows up once every 259 years to prove his existence to all planets. He appears when the planets of our solar system all fall into a straight line before going into completely different orbits. It lasts for about five minutes or so." Lunara sighed and brought her eyes to mine. "It'll be awesome, we're some of the only people who get to experience this!" She chuckled whilst exclaiming. "It'll be a nice break from the conflict."
