"So, I got $18 in tips." Ruby said as she and Ivy walked into Beth's house. They had just come from the diner, "I had to sell Stan's favorite set of cufflinks for $250. Sara is playing her first soccer game in a T-shirt instead of the team uniform. And me and Ivy were able to get her a second job at the diner." Ruby explained
"Yep. I start tomorrow so my tips will now go to this whole thing." Ivy adds, "Which, as of right now, that gives us a grand total of $343. Which means we now owe $59,657 to the violent street gang." Ruby says "Please tell us you did better." Ruby and Ivy looked at the sisters
Beth and Annie stayed quiet, "What's happening right now?" Ivy asked looking between the two "There's been a development." Beth says to them
"What kind of development?" Ruby asks. Beth and Annie don't say anything they just walk out the back door. Ruby and Ivy look at each other before following.
Beth pointed up at the treehouse. Ruby and Ivy climbed up with Annie and Beth following.
Ruby and Ivy looked inside the tree house and saw boomer tied up laying on the floor of the tree house and covered in dirt and blood "What are we looking at right now?" Ruby asked
Beth and Annie stayed quiet, "What are we even looking at right now?" Ruby asked again
Boomer screams but it was muffled by the bandana that was tied around his mouth.
"Absolutely not. Nope!" Ivy said and walked away and climbed down from the tree house. The other three followed.
"Are you guys insane?" Ivy asked walking back into the house, "He knows about the store." Annie said, "He was going to the cops." Beth said
"Does he know about the gang, too?" Ruby asked, "Hell no. That's way above his pay grade. He's like the definition of middle management." Annie said and sat down
"Oh, and he also tried to rape me." Annie said "What?" Ruby and Ivy looked at Annie "That is absolutely true. After you guys left Annie's last night." Beth said nodding
"He's a dick and a rapist." Annie said "It was self-defense." Beth adds
"Self-defense?" Ruby asks in shock
"Definitely."
"Yes."
Ivy looked at them confused, "How is hogtying a man, climbing him 12 feet above the earth, and hiding him in a treehouse self-defense?" Ruby asked
"Yeah maybe if you wouldn't have tied him up, brought him from Annie's house to here you might've been able to get away with self-defence, but now it's just kidnapping." Ivy tells them
"Okay, you know what? You guys weren't there." Annie says "You're damn right, I wasn't there." Ruby says
"We are feeding him." Beth starts to pace, "Oh well that changes things." Ivy says sarcastically
