The chapter wasn't the one I could rush with. I think it was much awaited, even more than the confession chapter.
As you all were very patient, I didn't want to break the chapter into two halves and break the flow. Especially after making you wait so long.
Word Count 7695 ( Of story. Not my words.) Making this the longest chapter I have written to date.
Imp : I have added Author's pov to make the situation and feelings more clear.
Happy Reading.

" Maa, please. " I say.
" No, Meera. We need to go back to your Dad." She says working on her laptop.
" Why didn't he come then?" I ask. A little disappointed yet relieved I didn't have to see Maya with us.
" I refused him to come." She says like it's no big deal.
" Why," I ask confused. Why would she stop him from coming when she is the one pushing us together?
" I didn't want him to be in a situation where he had to choose between two of his daughters. " She says.
But why. I wanted to ask. Until and unless he won't chooses, how will I know who is more important to him? Madhav decided to choose Maya over me. What difference would it have made if Dad had also chosen her?
Who cares about me? I just have Maa. My constant. And Aarna at least till now . I don't know what our equation will be after we don't live together.
" Meera. Don't be stubborn. Even Aarna is not with you. How do you expect me to send you to a random person's farewell party? " She says crossing her arms.
I didn't tell her it was a birthday party; instead, I told her it was a farewell party the kids organized.
" Okay. " I whisper, leaving her room and locking myself in the other room.
I opened the text message he sent.

Hello Sherni.
It's my birthday tomorrow and we are celebrating tonight. I know you have ended things between us but just once forget everything and come to my birthday. Just for the sake of everything we shared. If you loved me even for a second you will come. I will wait for you only you.
