Aria's POV
I looked up at him, he's taking me back to midnight pack? Why? Why would he want to be seen with me? What would people say?
Standing upright, he stretched out a hand towards me to help me up. I just stared at it.
"Something wrong mate?" He asked
"I am an omega, why would you want to be seen at a social event with me?" I whispered. He looked at me with both brows raised, as if I had just asked the world's most stupid question.
But nothing seemed more logical to me at that moment. All my life I've been looked down on and told how less of a wolf I am, the mere sight of me repulsed the others and I didn't think being mated to an Alpha overnight was going to change that.
And then he smirked. Alpha Alexander actually smirked! Making me see the need to explain myself better; "People will talk, they will gossip, they will_"
"Now I'm curious to see who would dare speak ill about me or my mate." He countered, the smirk not leaving his face. But his words did nothing to expel my worries, so he tried again;
"You are Alpha Alexander's mate, nobody, no wolf, would dare say anything with me by your aside." For some reason, I believed him. Turning to the other man he sent to capture me, he said, "Help her up, untie her, and walk her to the car."
I didn't dare look up as I followed Alpha Alexander into the heavily lit ballroom, still filled with elegantly dressed people of high ranking. But I didn't dare to look up to know that all eyes were on my small, timid frame, their gazes tickled my skin but he didn't seem to notice.
They were wondering what I was doing walking alongside him, I was certain of it.
'Did Alpha Alexander buy the omega?'
'What is that piece of scum doing with an alpha as
Powerful as that"'She shouldn't be around anybody of such high standards!'
Little did I know that that would be the nicest assumption made because before my poor mind could register what was going on, we were climbing up unto the high table.
I was about to panic and run in the opposite direction, when my eyes met that of Alpha Ethan's, immediately gluing me to the spot where I stood.
But he wasn't looking at me, he was looking at his brother in front of me, with something that looked like anger in his features, while I stared stupidly. It was like he deliberately didn't want to spare me a glance. I wasn't supposed to mind but I did.
"Alexander....." It was Alpha Collin's voice, a thousand questions packed in that one word, he didn't look pleased. Nobody did I could hear them whispering.
'Isn't that the omega who's mom died of a leg infection?'
'What's she doing up there? With Alpha Alexander?'
'Oh my goddess, look at what she's wearing'
Alexander didn't look like he cared. I watched Alpha Collin whisper something to a guard and the guard headed straight for where we sat.
My heart raced, I already had an idea of what was going to happen. He came straight to Alpha Alexander not without giving me a disgusted stare.
"Alpha, the whole crowd is concerned about your guest."
"My guest?" Alpha Alexander asked, before turning abruptly to address the crowd "Pardon my manners for not making the needed introductions, but the lady you see here_" he takes my hand, his lips curved into a smile "_is not a guest. Meet Aria, my mate."
Jaws began to hang, eyes popped open, and gasps filled my ears.
Alpha Collin stared at me with thick disgust, looking at the man who just announced me to over three hundred people, he said, "Alexander, I'd like to talk to you, in private."
He demandedAlexander looked at him "Surely whatever you have to say can be said in front of her."
"You have got to be joking Alexander, how do you expect us to believe that the moon goddess paired you with this filth?!" Collin's Luna spoke up from the other end of the table.
Alpha Alexander had a blank expression on his face, but he was not smiling nor did he respond to her comment.
Alpha Collin took it from there "You've had too much to drink, have you not Alexander? Otherwise, you won't disrupt a gathering such as this with such announcement."
Alexander clenched his jaw in anger. "I'll advise you to mind your tongue, Collin, you haven't forgotten what happened during the war so soon, have you? I have but a little patience, do not test it!"
Oh how I shivered at the coldness in Alpha Alexander's words. Alpha Collin must've heard it too because he immediately backed away.
Taking hold of my hand again, Alpha Alexander led me to his brother Ethan, guess he was serious about introducing me to him
"I brought her back." he said, Ethan didn't respond and I did my best to avoid his gaze but then Alexander's phone began to ring, "You two catch up, I'll be right back" and he walked away leaving me with his brother, I had no idea where to look.
However, I finally summoned the courage to look into his bright blue eyes that were already looking into mine but the words that escaped his mouth sent a chill down my spine;
"I'd give you some advice and if you are smart, you'd take it. Run while you still have the chance"
