ALEXANDER'S POV:

I knew it would hurt her, I knew that lowlife's confession would hurt her.

I just didn't know how much

I had hoped it wouldn't hurt her so much because that just goes to show how much she truly loved him, she was probably excited when the guards called her to come see Patrick only to have her fragile heart broken into a million pieces

And now she was nowhere to be seen in the mansion, the guards said she wasn't in her room, maybe I should've gone after her the moment she ran out of the hall of judgement

I hadn't expected Patrick to be a fraud either, I believed he genuinely cared for my mate, not until my guards told me that after seperating him from my mate on the day of the anniversary, he kept howling and shouting, saying we had ruined his plan and he will never see an opportunity like this again

That was when I got suspicious enough to torture the truth out of him

And I must say it has been an exhausting venture

I slid the double glass doors that connected my room to a balcony open and stepped into the fresh morning breeze

That was how I saw them, Aria and Ethan, tangled up in a position that made a vein pop in my head

His broad shoulders seemed to swallow her as he leaned into her, she stayed put

"so she finds it easier to kiss Ethan than to kiss me? WHY? Because I'm the monster in her story?"

My blood boiled, oh how it boiled!

Not because I was jealous, no, after all we're supposed to share mates aren't we?

My blood boiled in anger because she pushed me, only to welcome my brother's lips hours later

Gerim walked in then, taking my attention of them for a second

Gerim was my right hand man, most reliable of all the guards in this mansion

"What are we to do with the omega sir?" he asked

"Just lock him up, I'll decide later," I maintained a short moment of silence before issuing the dreaded order "You and Alponphos have to begin preparations to receive the general,"

I could literally hear tall, huge Gerim swallow, "He's coming back?"

"This is his home is it not?" I looked back at where Aria was seated in the garden while Ethan stood before her "my major concern is her," I murmured "we need to hide her somewhere before he comes."

Gerim nodded, he understood. Meanwhile Aria stared up at my brother in a mixture of confusion and shock and curiosity

"what are you saying to her Ethan?"  I wondered with a clenched jaw

And the moment he exited her presence, I exited my room hoping to catch him in the hallway

Which I did, "What did you say to Aria?" I asked straight up, no time to beat around the bush

He stared me down, scoffed and tried to walk past me, I didn't let him

"Get out of my way Alex."

"I really hope to the goddess you didn't mention Yvonne"

"How long do you intend to hide things from her? I think she deserves to know what happened to her predecessor...."

I couldn't help the growl that escaped my chest "oh for goddess's sake Ethan! It's too early for conversations like that! She just got here. And why the fuck would you bring her up to Aria without at least consulting me first?!"

"Oh please, I didn't tell her anything, I just told her to ask you. I won't say she's not curious though"

I sighed, "well let's leave that for now, we've got bigger problems......... The General's coming."

He immediately tensed up, "What about Aria?"

I silently shook my head, indicating that I haven't decided yet.
