The Belmont Hold was a treasure trove of knowledge and secrets, a vast labyrinth of forgotten history and unimaginable power. Y/N couldn't sleep, her mind abuzz with the wonders of the Hold. Ancient tomes, magical artifacts, and weapons lined every corner, whispering of battles fought and knowledge preserved through sheer determination.
Despite the late hour, Y/N found herself wandering the library, marveling at the collection Trevor's family had amassed. Her fascination eventually led her to Alucard, who was seated near an old desk piled high with books, his golden hair glowing softly in the dim light.
"You're still awake?" she asked softly, approaching him.
Alucard glanced up, his golden eyes reflecting the flickering torchlight. "I have been asleep for a year, I've had enough of it, but I could ask you the same thing. Have you not found this place overwhelming?"
Y/N chuckled, taking a seat across from him. "Overwhelming doesn't even begin to describe it. I've been reading so much, I don't think I've blinked in hours. But I wanted to check on you. Have you found anything useful?"
Alucard set down the book in his hand and leaned back slightly. "I'm not sure. The Belmonts were thorough in their records, but there's so much to sift through. I keep hoping I'll find something definitive about how to defeat my father, but so far, it's more questions than answers."
Y/N tilted her head, watching him carefully. "How do you feel about all of this? About what we're about to do? Facing him?"
He hesitated, his fingers tracing the edge of the book. "I feel... conflicted. He's my father, but he's also a monster. My mother wouldn't have wanted this, but she wouldn't have wanted him to destroy the world either."
"And after it's all over?" she pressed gently.
Alucard's gaze grew distant. "I haven't thought that far ahead. I suppose I'll try to find some semblance of purpose. But it's hard to envision a future when so much of it feels uncertain."
Y/N nodded, her voice soft. "I understand. I've spent so much of my life just surviving that I've never really thought about what comes next. Maybe... we'll figure it out together."
Before Alucard could respond, the ground beneath them began to shake violently. Dust fell from the ceiling as shelves rattled and books tumbled to the floor.
"What the—" Y/N shot to her feet, steadying herself against the desk.
Alucard's expression hardened. "We need to regroup with the others. Something's happening."
The group gathered near the main chamber, where Trevor was already arming himself. He held a new whip, its length shimmering faintly in the dim light.
"This is the Morning Star," he explained quickly, giving it a practiced flick. "A weapon specifically designed to kill vampires and night creatures."
"We're under attack, aren't we?" Sypha asked, her tone tense.
Trevor nodded. "Something's trying to break in. I'll block the entry. You two," he gestured to Alucard and Sypha, "figure out what we're dealing with using the Mirror and get the castle here. Y/N, pick a side."
"I'll stay and see what they're up against first," Y/N replied. "I'll join you after."
Trevor gave a curt nod before sprinting toward the entryway.
Alucard and Sypha activated the Mirror, its surface rippling with energy. Images began to form—a small group of night creatures clawing their way toward the Hold.
"Shit, they look angry" Y/N said murmuring to herself.
"There are about five of them...be careful." Alucard said, his expression stern but slightly worried.
"I will...you guys be careful yourselves." Y/N replied, running after Trevor.
Y/N caught up with Trevor at the stairwell leading to the surface. Together, they pushed open a heavy door, revealing a hulking, bull-like night creature smashing through the stairs.
"Well, that's horrifying," Y/N muttered, summoning her scythe.
"You're telling me," Trevor quipped, brandishing the Morning Star.
The creature roared, its hooves crashing against the stone, sending cracks spidering across the floor. Trevor and Y/N attacked in tandem, their weapons striking true, but the creature was relentless.
"Go for its legs!" Y/N shouted, sweeping her scythe low.
Trevor followed her lead, and together they managed to bring the creature down, but not before it dealt a final devastating blow, collapsing the stairs and leaving the floor slick with blood that reached up to their shins.
"Lovely," Trevor muttered, shaking blood off his boots.
"There's more coming," Y/N warned, her gaze fixed on the doorway.
A second night creature emerged—a firedrake, its body wreathed in flames.
"We need to take that one out first," Trevor said, his tone grim.
"Agreed," Y/N replied, already moving into position.
Meanwhile, Alucard and Sypha worked frantically at the Mirror.
"We need to teleport the castle here," Sypha said, her voice strained as she channeled her magic. "But its defenses are strong—it's fighting me."
Alucard placed a steadying hand on her shoulder. "You can do this. Focus on the ley lines. The castle's power is connected to them. If you can disrupt its balance, we might have a chance."
Sypha gritted her teeth, her magic intensifying. "Keep the faith, Alucard."
Trevor's Morning Star cracked through the air, its holy power flaring as it struck the creature. The firedrake let out a piercing screech before exploding in a massive fireball, the force of the blast sending Trevor and Y/N flying backward.
The explosion blasted a hole through the wall, sending both of them tumbling into the library. They scrambled to their feet just as the remaining creatures—a birdlike monster and one wielding a staff—descended upon them.
"Just like old times," Trevor quipped, swinging his whip.
"You mean fighting for our lives? Yeah, great memories," Y/N shot back, her scythe flashing as she slashed at the birdlike creature.
The staff-wielding creature unleashed a wave of dark energy, forcing them to scatter.
"We could really use Sypha's fire magic right about now," Trevor grumbled.
"She's busy teleporting the castle right now, stop fawning over her," Y/N replied.
"Am not!" Trevor yells, his cheeks reddening.
"Whatever you say." Y/N said, slightly smirking knowing otherwise.
As the battle raged on, Y/N and Trevor fought with everything they had, their teamwork a seamless blend of skill and instinct. The Morning Star and Y/N's glowing scythe proved a deadly combination, cutting down the creatures one by one.
Finally, with a final crack of the whip and a decisive swing of the scythe, the last creature fell.
Exhausted and bloodied, Y/N and Trevor returned to the others. Sypha stood before the Mirror, her magic still stabilizing its image.
"I did it! I moved the castle!" she announced, her voice heavy with exhaustion. "Where is it exactly?" Alucard asked concerned.
"Right on top of the hold!...Where the only thing holding it up is wood and dirt." Sypha said, realizing the situation becoming more worried.
"lets get out of here then! This place could collapse!" Trevor exclaimed, rushing to get out.
Y/N turned to Alucard, grabbing his hand tightly, her expression softening. "Are you ready?"
Alucard hesitated, slightly shocked before nodding. "As ready as I'll ever be."
The group shared a moment of quiet resolve, the weight of the upcoming battle settling over them like a shroud.
