Walking up the stairs, I took the brief repose as a chance to ponder on the past few minutes.

That woman named Jisoo... she'd appeared more than once now in what were supposed to be false visions or memories, according to rule 11. I had no way to be sure if they were false to begin with, but even so, she must've been important to me somehow for this place to use her to mess with my mind.

The stairwell, as counterproductive as it would seem, only led one floor up. Pushing through the door, I came into another corridor, nearly identical to the one on the first floor. Only it seemed to be even more dimly lit than the first. I pulled out the rules list to try and see what it said about the 2nd floor, but even with the paper right in front of my eyes, I could barely recognise letters, let alone read. Sighing, I stuffed the paper back into my jacket pocket and adjusted the strap of the duffle bag on my shoulders

The doors on either side of the corridor were not unlike those in the first corridor, except the windows were fitted with some sort of frosted glass, so it was impossible to see inside. Not that it mattered, with how dark the place was. Though I couldn't see, I could hear just fine, though I wished I couldn't. The occasional sounds of rustling and the rare whisper coming from inside the rooms did little except set me on edge, leading me to increase my pace.
