She arrived with a storm of shadows, her form materializing like smoke solidifying into flesh. Xisel's eyes glinted with malice as she surveyed us.
"So predictable," she said, her voice smooth and mocking. "You think you can seal the rift and stop me? How quaint."
"Less talking, more fighting," Ignis snapped, launching a wave of fire at Xisel.
Xisel deflected it with a wave of her hand, her shadows absorbing the flames. "You'll have to do better than that, little flame."
Teri opened fire, his precision shots forcing Xisel to evade. Kei and Minooka flanked her, their combined efforts keeping her off-balance.
Meanwhile, I stood frozen, staring at the rift. Its energy called to me, but I didn't know how to respond.
"Now would be a good time to figure it out!" Ignis yelled, narrowly avoiding a tendril of shadow.
I closed my eyes, focusing on the resonance I'd felt before. Slowly, I raised my hands, and the energy began to flow. A faint light emerged, growing stronger as I concentrated.
"Interesting," Xisel said, her gaze snapping to me. "So you're the key after all." She lunged toward me, her shadows surging like a tidal wave.
Before she could reach me, Kei intercepted her, her light clashing with Xisel's darkness in a blinding explosion.
"Focus!" Kei shouted, her voice strained. "We'll hold her off!"
