Rayne felt all sorts of guilt coursing through her whole body. She was only able to sleep 4 hours out of her normal 8 hours of sleep she makes sure to get. Her mind kept on thinking about the many people that were injured and even dead, and the Guardians that they have been told to be, couldn't even be a help. All this training and working on improving their powers was to prevent things like this and protect these innocent lives. Should they have focused less on their powers and more on who this villain is?
She noticed that she wasn't the only one in the group that felt off about this whole situation. Their group chat was quiet the whole weekend which did not help Rayne's anxiety. She didn't even know if she should speak first. In the end, she didn't say anything.
To help get her mind off of the situation, she tried to work on her social studies and algebra homework. She was exceptional in math, so she wanted to work on that first to get it out of the way. However, when it comes to any history assignment, it is way more difficult. That could be why the information that she learned from the Guardian teachers was so hard for her mind to grasp.
While working on an algebra problem, she facepalmed herself, which did hurt with her mechanical pencil still being in her hands. Rayne was still thinking of her Guardian side. If it kept on getting brought up like this, then she wasn't going to be able to get her homework done today.
The Monday morning, when Rayne was getting ready for school, checked her phone every hour incase anyone texted. There was nothing. She hoped no one was wanting to stop being apart of this whole being a Guardian thing. Can the students or teachers just stop being Guardians and have normal lives. Are they now considered boring if they were not Guardians?
Rayne has had the best and insane time learning who she is or what she is. What made it more special was that there were others who were going through the same thing. The feeling of overwhelmed and loneliness would have made Rayne go crazy. Would she even stop being a Guardian if the others decided to stop?
Even before Rayne opened the classroom, voices could be heard. One sounded like George another sounded like Mrs. Melantha. And they were not using their inside voices.
When she walked in George, Lily, and Vincent were standing towards the back of the room, while the teachers were standing infront of the whiteboard, naturally.
"What is going on?" Rayne asked.
"These crazy people want us to scout out the place that caught on fire!" George did not lower down his voice.
"You might have powers, George but you still have to respect us adults." Mrs. Clemonte reminded him.
He crossed his arms. "Even if they suggest us going to where this villain was?"
Before the teachers could counter Rayne then said, "Why us?"
"If the villain who caused these lives or is still around they would sense our strong ability auras. You four just started training your powers. They would not sense you as easily as us."
"You guys really think the villains would still hang around?" Vincent said, with an arch brow.
Mrs. Melantha shrugged. "You never know."
"What do the other teachers think about this?" Lily asked.
"They are on board." Mrs. Clemonte announced. "Mrs. Vesper thought of the idea."
