A week after the gut wrenching events from the last chapter, everything went quite smoothly. The kids found out about everything, except the fact that Silas AKA Bishop is Jack and Jane's father (which they are grateful for) and forgave her for hiding such crazy secrets. Of course, Miko wanted to meet this Wildfire herself, but she is most certainly not gonna ask her cause she's probably gonna get scolded if she does. School has been nothing but great. She has gotten a few 'friends' over the span of a few weeks because of how 'likable' she is. She is totally not harassing kids by the way. Then, she and Vince had a thrill of making jokes about the kids' lives. Honestly, they hate them for this but at this point, they're used to this (in the case of Vince) or they already know that she just doesn't want to seem soft and probably doesn't mean it personally (in the case of Jane).
Jane has also found out that the brothers, Theo and Kai, are also studying here after moving away from Shanghai because their parents have work here. They asked her about what in the world of illegal street racing happened back then and she managed to sneak in a lie about her mom finding out that Jack went there and told her to get him back. They were slightly skeptical at first but accepted it as the truth.
On a fine afternoon full of kids screaming in the hallway of chaos, Jane was opening her locker while talking with the trio, without Vince being nearby of course. She may or may not just happen to find a letter, a confession letter to be exact. It reads as follows:
'Oh, my dearest, my heart's desire,
Your beauty leaves me in awe and fire,
Every glance, a sweet delight,
Your smile, a ray of sunshine bright.
Your eyes, like pools of blue, so deep,
Draw me in, and push me off so steep,'It wasn't signed or anything, but she's got a suspicion on who it's from due to the messy and barely readable handwriting. A nudge from her brother got her out of her trance, "Jane, you there? What in the world is that?" "Nothing and none of your business, not scram you, cagna," she hisses. She was definitely hiding something with her defensiveness. It's her habit to be too defensive if she's not prepared for such a scenario.
Somehow, someway, Raf managed to guess what it was, a confession letter. He later went on explaining how the whole school got a letter, each saying different things. For example, Jack got one full of insults and how he and Sierra will never get together and how it's all hopeless, Raf got one that actually praised him for his insane knowledge with technology but it was just a bait to keep him reading and the ending was just insulting to his family as a whole, Miko lastly had one that said how such an Asian girl doesn't belong in America and that she tainted America's Americanness (Racist, I know). "He's bad news, trust me," Miko said, full of sheer disgust. "I'm sure he isn't that bad, except maybe for the racism which I cannot tolerate," stated the female Darby. They started arguing about that.
. . .
A familiar boy was walking back and forth in his dark shady bedroom. "I'm such an idiot," he groans. He has been stressed for almost the entire day. He confessed through a letter, very 'romantic'. His mind was torn between positive thinking and just going with how reality works. Now, you may be asking, how did he end up at his house but successfully placed notes in everyone's lockers? Well, he asked his 'friend' to do it for him while he stayed home because he claimed to be sick.Footsteps were heard approaching his room. He was startled. His parents were out of town for work and stuff he doesn't care about, he doesn't have siblings, and he most certainly doesn't have guests coming over.
He took the closest thing to a weapon that he had in his room, a cutter. The figure kicked his door open and was armed with a machine gun. He aimed at the youngster and got closer, invading his personal space. "You said that you want to get closer to Jane?"
(This chapter is hella short, and it's a fricking filler. Help)
