It was snowing outside.

Niko could tell because the curtains were wide open from where they had forgotten to close them the evening before.

He watched the snow swirling around with tired eyes, looking down onto the bed. Aj was still asleep, snuggled closely against his own body in nothing but his boxers.

It should have been too cold for such little clothing, but here under the covers - Niko's own bare chest pressed up tightly against his boyfriend's, equally underdressed- they were blissfully warm.

Niko pulled Aj's sleep pliant body closer, kissing the top of his head and grinning to himself like a lovesick puppy.

The day before, they had decorated their house together, staying up later than usual and singing christmas songs throughout the entire house and evening.

When it had been finally time to go to sleep, they had barely managed to strip down, weary and tired from the busy day they had, and had fallen asleep the second their heads hit the pillows.

The door to their room made a soft squeaking sound as it was opened, and James poked his head inside while keeping his eyes squeezed shut.

"Are you awake?" He whispered into the room. Niko glanced down at Aj's relaxed face and answered quietly, "Yeah, I am, but Aj's still sleeping. What's up?"

James nodded, carefully opening one eye. "Are you decent?"

Niko chuckled softly, "it's nothing you haven't seen before, man."

In the doorway, James shuddered. "That's what I'm afraid of," he grimaced but opened his other eye as well when he made out that both of his friends were covered by the blanket.

"Just checking in if you plan on having breakfast soon?"

Aj made a sleep soft noise and buried his face in Niko's neck, breathing evening out again. Niko cooed softly, kissing over his brow and then answering James with a murmer. "Nah, he's completely out. Reckon we'll just sleep in a bit longer."

James nodded understandingly, turning to close the door behind him again as he walked out. "You know," he started softly, "you two are actually kinda cute when you're not actively trying to scar me by blowing his back out in front of me."

Niko smirked at his friend's retreating back. "How do you know we didn't fall asleep fucking and my dick's not still in-"

"Nikolas!" A hiss came from the door, Chunkz staring disapprovingly towards him. He placed a calming hand on James's arm and pulled his trembling frame out of the room. "Hasn't he suffered enough?"

Niko laughed quietly to himself and cuddled up closer to the smaller body in his arms as the door shut again. He buried his nose in Aj's hair and sighed quietly. Yeah, he thought, as he contently watched the snow fall outside. Waking up with Aj in his arms, sleep warm, and adorable? He could get used to this.
