Newt x Reader

~NEWT's POV~
Y/n followed me out of the hut. I walked over to the hammocks were we all slept. "This is where we sleep" I stated "although you won't be sleeping her as soon you'll have your own hut! Lucky you!" I marvelled. She laughed again making me smile, and blush slightly, but I turned away and started walking forwards again so she wouldn't see. Next I took her over to the pit. "This is the pit. It's where any glader that has done anything bad or punishable goes as consequence." I explained. She looked up at me, which was cute because I was a lot taller than her so she had to look up to see my face. " have you ever been in the pit?" She asked curiously. I wasn't sure weather it was an insult because she though I did something bad, or if she was just genially curious. " no I haven't and I'm definitely not planning to" I replied. She laughed "neither am I!" I looked into her eyes and I fell into some sort of daze. They were just so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off them. Well I couldn't until she tugged on my arm and asked "are you ok? You're just standing there staring at me," I shook myself out of the daze. "Yeah I'm fine I'm just tired that's all" I lied. "Do you wanna see the food area or the rest of the hut first?" I asked her. "I wanna see your work" she said looking into my eyes. I tried not to get distracted by them again, but it was definitely hard. "Uh y-yeah sure" I stuttered blushing. 'I need to control myself!' I waved my hand for her to follow me and we walked over to the garden. "It's not very exciting but I can't do much else with my limp so I make do" I explain. "I think it's cool newtie!" She smiles. Fuck! My face is sooooo red now! She just called me newtie? Am I imagining this or is this real? "I-I uh w-what did you called me?" I stammered. "Newtie. If you don't like it I can just call you newt" she added. "No I like that name you can call me it, I think it's cute" I say still intensely blushing. "Great then! I wanna see the hut now newtie" she giggled. Shit I can't stop blushing she is so fuckin adorable! "I-uh yep come with me" I say feeling flustered by her new nickname for me. I walk her over to the hut where a couple of the boys are standing. Frypan walked over to greet us. "How you liking the glade so far y/n?" He inquired. "It's alright but I still don't know why I'm here" she replied. "None of us do" frypan joked. It was true. We didn't know why we were in here, but I don't mind as much knowing y/n is here now.
~Time skip - to dinner (still newt's pov) ~
I watch y/n up the front talking to frypan. I tried to stop myself from looking at her but one, there's not much to look at and two, she's so beautiful it's hard to take my eyes off her. Minho comes and sits next to me with his food and nudges me with his elbow. "Stop admiring the new girl y/n and eat your food before it goes cold will ya?" Minho asks. "I-I was not admiring her!" I blurt out defensively, even though I most definitely was. "Oh come on newt, you've been looking at her ever since she arrived here in the glade this morning! You got distracted before even pulling her out of the box!" Minho remarked. "Wait- you saw that!?" I almost choked on my own saliva. "Of course I did, but your lucky none of the other gladers did." Minho replied chuckling to himself. I'm just about to hit Minho when y/n comes and sits down beside me. She looks up at me and asks if she can sit with me because the other boys are being weird towards her. Of course I say yes. I turn around and Minhos smirking at me. I elbow him in the gut as an indication to shut up and stop whatever he's doing. He coughs and leans forwards onto the table so he can see y/n. "Hey y/n how ya doing now your kinda settled in?" Minho asked her. "I'm not doing too bad but I'm still confused on this whole situation" she answered. "I've been here for ages and I'm still confused" he's laughs. "Minho!" Alby yells. Minho gets up, turns to me and whispers "have fun" the walks away towards alby. What a dickhead! I turn to face y/n. Her plates already empty, while I've barely roughed mine. "Hungry huh?" I joke. "Yeah!" She laughs. "But you better get eating before your food gets too cold" she adds. "Oh yeah, right" I mutter as I pick up my fork. I finish pretty quickly. "Nearly as fast as me newtie!" She giggled looking up at me. 'Y/n yawns' and blinks softly. "I'm so tired" she mutters quietly. "So am I" I whisper back, "but we ave to get to the bonfire so let's head over now before you fall asleep" I insist. She obeys and stands up waiting to follow me to the bonfire. I get up and start walking over. I walk slower so I can stay by her side as we head to the bonfire. As we arrive gally hands me a glass with his special drink in it. He also hands one to y/n urging her to try it. She puts the glass to her mouth and takes a small sip of the concoction. She had a confused look on her face. "What is this uh- uhm.." "gally. My names gally, and it's a special recipe of mine" he exclaims. "Yeah very special" she jokes. Gally looks at her annoyed. "What ever y/n, just come over to the bonfire so we can fight" gally grumbles.
