Destined Roommates | Taegyu

When Beomgyu woke up the next day, he realized that today was the day exam results would be out. He quickly got up and got ready for the day. 

When Beomgyu entered the living room, he saw Taehyun pacing back and forth, seemingly in deep thought because he didn't even notice the presence of another human being in the room. "Taehyun..?" Beomgyu called gently and that seemed to snap Taehyun out of his trance as he froze in his spot and looked over at Beomgyu. 

"Oh, hyung. It's just you" Taehyun said in relief, sitting down on the couch. "Yeah, of course it's me. Who else do you think lives here?" Beomgyu joked. Taehyun chuckled as Beomgyu headed over to the couch and sat next to him. 

"Are you okay?" Beomgyu asked, noticing that Taehyun looked a bit tense. 

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit worried about the results. I'm scared I didn't do good enough" Taehyun admitted, his head hung low. "Hey, come on. It's gonna be alright. I'm sure you did great" Beomgyu reassured, caressing the younger one's back softly. Taehyun nodded and checked the time. 

"Come on, let's go. It's almost time for class" Taehyun said, exhaling a huge breath before getting up. Beomgyu didn't say anything and just got up and went along with Taehyun. 

"Alright, students. As you all know, today we'll be handing out the exam results so I hope you're prepared. I will call each your names and your scores out loud in order from the lowest score to the highest. The lowest score and highest score will be announced the last. If everything is clear, I will begin" Mr. Kim Namjoon announced after taking attendance. 

"Park Jongseong, 82.5" Mr. Kim announced, followed by a round of applause. 

"Park Sunghoon 89" 

"Sim Jaeyun 91..." 

So one by one, the names were called and the scores were announced. With each passing second, Taehyun was becoming even more nervous. When was his name going to be called? Can't the scores be announced any faster? 

"... Choi Beomgyu, 98" Mr. Kim announced with a smile. 

Okay now Taehyun was feeling really hopeless. Because the only names that had not been called were his and another one of his classmates. Which meant he could either have gotten the lowest score or the highest score. But Taehyun wasn't feeling confident at all. How was he going to beat Beomgyu? The top med student. One way to find out. 

"Kang Taehyun... " Taehyun's breath hitched. 

"... 99.5, congratulations. You've scored the highest" Mr. Kim said with a smile. 

"Taehyun, I'm so proud of you. Congratulations" Beomgyu said with a smile, turning to look at Taehyun. But instead of finding any signs of relief on his face, Beomgyu noticed that Taehyun looked tenser than before. But before he could ask, Mr. Namjoon spoke up again, gaining his attention. 

"Okay, students. Congratulations to all of you. You've all show a remarkable performance in your exams and I'm looking forward to seeing the same in the year end exams as well. So now, let's carry on with our lecture" Mr. kim said. 

A few minutes into the lecture, Taehyun excused himself to the bathroom. Okay now Beomgyu was worried. Taehyun was never the type to go to the bathroom in the first lesson of the day. So Beomgyu excused himself to the bathroom as well and went after Taehyun. 

When Beomgyu reached the bathroom, his eyes frantically started to scan every corner of the bathroom. Then, he heard quiet sobs coming from one of the bathroom stalls, the door was slightly open and Beomgyu didn't need to think twice to realise that it was Taehyun.
