Last night before any one went to bed, Mitchie stopped by all of the cabins to inform every one of the plan to confront Camp Star the next morning.
Now all Camp Rock counselors were currently marching their way to Camp Star.
"Camp Rock! Camp Rock!" They chanted as they continued marching down the dirt path. Shane, Jason, Nate, and Danny were at the end of the group. Shane and Jason were carrying their Guitars. Nate was beating his drum sticks together to the beat of the chant and Danny was following closely behind with a determined yet unsure feeling bubbling inside her.
"Camp Rock! Camp Rock! Boom!" They finished as they marched up onto the Camp Star stage.
"Yeah, that's right. We're here on your stage. See, you guys didn't really give us a chance to answer back the other night." Mitchie walked forward.
"But guess what? That's gonna change." She grinned at the group of Camp Star campers.
"Camp Rock versus Camp Star: The Final Jam. What do you guys think about that?" Mitchie challenged with a confident smirk.
"Drums!" Barron called. Nate began playing the drums to a steady beat flashing a smile towards Danny who stood next to Mitchie.
"A little guitar, please." Sander asked as Shane and Jason began playing.
"One, two, three, four"
So I hate to disappoint but I don't really feel like writing out the song...sorry! Just know that Danny and Mitchie sang the lead.~Skip to After the Song~
"It's on!"
The teens broke apart from their fighting like positions as they heard the sound of clapping off in the distance.
"That is a fantastic idea. Truly, I'm impressed." Axel congratulated from the stands, grabbing Danny and the rest of Camp Rock's attention.
"A little healthy competition is exactly what we need. A champion always needs a good sparring partner."
"We do?" Luke asked confused but was easily ignored by the older man who approached the group of teens.
"But you really think that you can, uh, take my guys on head-to-head?" He laughed.
"Anytime. Any place." Peggy challenged.
"Maybe use our amphitheater?"
"It doesn't matter where. We just know that Camp Rock is gonna blow you guys away." Mitchie shrugged.
"I'm sure an audience would be a better judge of that."
"Bring it on. You can pack it with anybody you want." Spoke Caitlyn.
"Well, how about a worldwide audience? What if we put this little competition on TV? Have the public decide who's really the best." Axel suggested with a smug smirk.
"Uh, I don't really know about this." Danny mumbled resulting in Nate wrapping his arm around her shoulder to calm her nerves. Even though, it did quite the opposite. However she pushed those feelings away and focused back in the situation at hand.
"Not much of a big talker now, are you?" Luke mocked as he spotted the doubtful expression on Mitchie and Danny's face.
"But that would be so cool!" Peggy pleaded with Mitchie.
"The whole world would see us." Caitlyn added.
"Uh...You're on." Mitchie accepted the challenge.
"I can only see this going bad." Danny groaned while closing her eyes and turning into Nate's chest while everyone else cheered around her. Nate just held her close and patted her back with a smile. Even though he knew she was probably right, that this whole competition would probably turn into a disaster, he savored the small moment between the two of them.
~Time Skip~
"So does anyone have any ideas for the music?" Mitchie asked as she approached the group who was seated around one of the tables in the mess hall.
Everyone was silent for a few moments before Nate reached into Danny's jacket pocket and pulled out her song book.
"Danny's got one. It's a duet." He said flipping to a song she had shown him a while ago and showing it to the group.
Danny let out a gasp as she reached for the book, "Nathan Gray- hmph!" She was cut off by Shane covering her mouth and holding her back. He let her go after a moment or two when he was sure she wasn't going to lunge for the book. Instead he received a glare but he only shrugged innocently before they both turned back to the group.
"I wrote it a long time ago, so it's not perfect." She explained.
"Well I personally think it's great." Mitchie assured her with a smile which she returned with a thankful one.
"I think I can rewrite it and make a part for everybody." Danny suggested.
"Or we can rewrite it." Nate butted in earning a soft smile from Danny. Her previous anger disappeared almost instantly.
"I lay pretty pretty flowers on your grave. Am I the only one who thinks this song is, like, totally depressing?" Ella read confused.
Peggy cleared her throat before flipping the page, "you're on the wrong page." She corrected.
Danny's anger quickly returned as the embarrassment flooded her, "Yeah, that song was for my hamster's funeral." She shot a glare towards Nate since he was the one who showed her book in the first place. He only smiled cheekily at her and made her cheeks flush which she hid with an eye roll.
"Oh this is perfect." Ella laughed happily as she read the correct song.
"The staging could be pretty cool." Peggy noted as she passed the song book to Caitlyn.
"Yeah, it looks like there's some great spots for dancing."
"And it's got a great groove."
"Well, before we get ahead of ourselves, guys, I got a couple conditions." Jason spoke.
"You've got conditions?" Nate asked, not believing his brother. Danny elbowed him in the side for the rude comment saying, "be nice to your brother," before slipping his hat off his head and placing it on her own. He favored his side before turning back to his brother.
"Yes, well a condition," Nate nodded at his brother before he continued, "There has to be a spot for my Junior Rockers."
"Of course. That's what this is all about. So, what do you guys think?" Mitchie asked the group.
"I'm in. Let's do it." The group agreed.
"I think someone should talk to Uncle brown." Shane voiced.
"Why? I know exactly what he's gonna say." Mitchie said with a a confident smile.
"True, however just to be safe someone should go." Shane reasoned again. Everyone went silent as all eyes fell on Danny who was still wearing Nate's hat and mindlessly picking at her nails.
"Huh?, Wait why are you all staring at me?" Danny asked confused.
"You're gonna talk to Brown." Nate said matter-o-factly and snatching his hat back off her head.
"Wait-no no no" She shook her head in disagreement.
"C'mon Danny! We all know he can't say no to you." Shane tried to reason. Danny only sighed in defeat as she accepted her fate and hopped off the table top before trudging her way to Brown's office, even though she had a keen feeling that they were wrong.
