"Do you think I'd taste good?"

"Y-Y/n! You can't say things like that!"

You erupted into a fit of giggles from the sheer pink his face flushed. Seeing and hearing you laugh made a weary one escape. He turned over so that his body faced you. The early morning sun dappled your skin in dancing shades of rose and canary. From the draping blankets off your hips, the light poured down over your stomach and waist. How soft were the curves of your chest and abdomen; such ethereal features he couldn't help his eyes from consuming all your beauty. His wings jittered in excitement.

"I'm just teasing!" You shifted into his chest and innocently looked up at him. "I know you'd never do that, Suchan."

He sighed and wound an arm around your body, settling his hand on your waist. It had been some time since that incident by the canal. Whether either of you wished to remember was vague. For you, the memory remained to remind you of how fleeting life was– for both of you. To him, the thought seared his mind in his deepest nightmares. Yet, there was a sense of relief when his consciousness wandered to that night; whenever light rain pattered, or a cicada cooed, he couldn't help but flit back to that night. Though, your optimism eased his worries; as long as you weren't afraid of him, he could continue on. And you weren't scared of him, it wasn't a sentiment you simply convinced yourself of. It was only natural in this world and community; there was no use wasting feelings on nature. If anything, that night brought you two closer.

The spring days had been passing by in blissful wonder. You'd wake up next to him, and hear his breathing slow when closing your eyes by nightfall. At first, he handled you with diligent care– one that began to annoy you. "Why are you scared of me, silly? I'm not the predator!" and his old ways came back. You were right, he needn't be cautious with you. And when the moon rose high into the night sky, did you two often find yourselves entangled until your hearts became one. You cherished those moments, his breath on your skin being a sensation that ignited you from within. It was a peaceful life you two traversed; hand in hand, the both of you were but one.

Suchan absentmindedly messed with a strand of your hair, looking off towards the ceiling. From the way the sunlight caught his eyes, they seemed to glow like polished jade. You knew that look: he was thinking about something. Turning, you sat up on your elbows and faced him.

"What's on your mind, Su?"

Almost instantly, the faraway expression dissolved into a warming smile. He displaced the hand supporting his head to cup your cheek, his smile growing in the process.

"Nothing," He's hand dropped to your stomach. "Thinking about this...!"

His fingertips lightly drew across your ribcage in fluttering tickles. Giggles squeezed from your chest as you curled into a ball to prevent his advances. Tears sprung to your eyes; your stomach began to hurt from the laughter.

"S-Suchan! Stop it!" But your voice fell into more laughter. With a halfhearted push to his chest, he released you to settle back onto your stomach. You shakily breathed, respiration momentarily disturbed by straying giggles. You had buried your face in the bed in order to compose yourself. Meanwhile, he watched you in adoration; you truly were an angel.

"Hey, dear?" He drew on his words in a teasing manner. Cautiously, he lifted your forearm to unveil your face. He couldn't help a laugh at your pitiful expression. "Come here..." Was all he said before winding around your waist and pulling you close. You curled your hands against his side, nails brushing his skin. You looked away with lips pulled into a pout, an undeniable flush dusting your cheeks. You weren't quite sure why such bashfulness resided, it wasn't like this was anything out of the ordinary for you two. Maybe the sunlight was playing tricks on you, enhancing his features in ways that satisfied your deepest desires.
