The Reck

              One morning, I was woken up by John, asking if he could leave yet. He didn't write it, he spoke it. This had shocked me. I then replied, "I don't know if you could leave, or not, but I could go check with the doctor if you were free to leave". He wanted to leave really bad. He has been in the hospital for well over a week.

I got up, told John I would be right back, and left the room, out looking for the doctor. But, I had a feeling that Dr. Lawrence was not going to let him leave just yet. All I know is that when he can leave I want to take him out and have a day for himself, where he can do whatever he wants, because he has been in the hospital for so long.

When I found the doctor, I asked if I could talk to him. He was okay with it and was ready to listen. I explained to him how John woke me up and asked if he could leave and how he was talking perfectly fine and everything.

I was shocked because Dr. Lawrence looked down at his papers and said that he was free to go. Likewise, I was not expecting him to say he could leave. I knew John would be happy to hear the good news. I now had to start thinking about what I was going to do with John.

Not only that, but I stopped by the cafeteria asking them if they made cakes. Luckily, they did, so I asked them to make a cake that says, "Congratulations! You Can Leave The Hospital!" or something else like that. But instead, they put "Surprise! I Have Some Plans For Us To Go To!" I was shocked with what they did. It was amazing.

When I finally got to his room again. I had a nurse hold it behind me, so he wouldn't see it until we were all in his room. We walked in slowly one after another until the room was packed. Then, the nurse handed me the cake. I turned around, and we all yelled, "SURPRISE!!" He was confused.

I walked over to him as close to him as I could get, and told him that he was free to leave anytime whenever he wanted. His face instantly lit up in joy. When he noticed the cake, he started shedding tears of joy because he hasn't had anyone get him cake, unless it was his birthday.

I told him that I was going to go pull the truck up to the front and will be out there waiting for him. He was ready to leave now. So I ran out and got to my truck as fast as I could, as I was running towards my truck, I looked over and noticed that there was another truck battle going on. I laughed and kept on making my way towards my truck.

By the time I got over to the front of the hospital, John was already out, ready to get into the truck. He really wanted to be gone off of the property. He needed 2 nurses to help him into the truck. Once they got him into the truck, I asked one of the nurses to hand me the seatbelt, that I could buckle him in for them.

As the nurses were about to go back into the hospital, when all of a sudden, an ambulance came flying into the parking lot with lights and sirens on. I knew I was right in the middle of the area where the ambulance drop-off was. So, I tried to get out of there as soon as possible.

When I was finally able to pull out, I pulled out fast to get out of the ambulance's way as quickly as I could. The reason I tried to rush out of its way was because I didn't know what the paramedics were working with. It could be a serious injury, maybe life taking. When I got out of the way, I drove to Stewart's as the first place I was going to go to, for the very eventful day.

When we got to Stewart's, I popped the gas cap open, by using the lever next to the one that pops the hood. Once I did this, I got out and put my credit card into the slot, and then I had to put my pin in, so I could accept saying that it was me that was using my card.

When I was done pumping diesel into the truck, I tightened the cap on the tank down, and closed the gas cap. Once I knew those were closed, I opened John's door and asked if he wanted anything. I told him he could get whatever he wanted. John decided to go in with me. He had to use the restroom anyway.

As we entered, there was an older woman arguing with one of the workers. I looked at John. We didn't notice we were still in the doorway, until someone yelled at us and said we were letting a breeze in. We apologized and went looking around for things John wanted. When he came to me with 1 Monster Juice Rio Punch, 1 Monster Energy Drink Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red, 1 container of French Vanilla Ice Cream, and one bag of Buckin' Ranch Takis.

When I realized he had that kind of Takis, I went and grabbed my own bag. I also liked that kind of Takis. I also grabbed a Monster Juice Rio Punch, and for the last thing I got was a Monster Energy Drink Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red. Everything, including the diesel, comes up to $104.70.

I knew this was not going to be the most expensive stop. My bank was going to run dry. I told him I will be picking him up tomorrow around 7 in the morning. We were going to have an amazing day, I was going to make sure of it.
