~ 16 ~ Boundaries And Sister Days~

|SATURDAY 6TH APRIL 2025 |

"I know'' Ross sighs scratching the back of his neck nervously. 

"I haven't ordered an Uber yet, let's talk" He says scratching the back of his neck nervously.  He follows her into the kitchen to get some water to start sobering up. Laura passes him a glass of water which he places on her island counter in front of him. 

"I think, we um have both realised our feelings for each other are still lingering, um I mean I guess I have feelings for you again, so I think we need boundaries. We know we can't be together because of the show and just our busy lives it won't work" Laura sighs. He stares at her likes she is insane. 

"Really? Boundaries? How the hell do we do that we are a fake couple after all! Also we don't know that we won't work out. I was ready to commit to you last year but you weren't so got a boyfriend. You moved on so fucking quick and it hurt Laura. I tried to pretend I was ok but honestly it broke me.

 Why do you I think I partied a lot that summer? I drank and went out more. I was heartbroken. Then I found out about you two online! Yes he seems like a good guy, but you never let us have a chance to be together. You know what we'll have boundaries. But good luck with that when we film those scenes together" He says shaking his head. He walks out her condo not looking back at the shocked brunette and orders and Uber. 

"ROSS wait!'' She shouts opening the door. Suddenly she doesn't know what to say as she sees his eyes water but every emotion in them. Laura feels tears roll down her own cheeks. She just wants to kiss him. What is she doing? 

He turns round and stares at her. He places a hand on her cheek. He continues to stare into those hazel eyes. 

"You want boundaries? Space? Ok then. Goodbye Laura" He says and walks away from her. 

The lyrics of their old R5 song 'One Last Dance' comes into his mind. It was mainly written about Ellington and his ex girlfriend Kelly but honestly Laura was inspiration too. Considering it was during 2013 with the whole prom thing. 

Laura watches him as he gets in the Uber and drives away. He's gone. Their friendship is over. Shit. They have a mature scene to film next week. 

Laura sighs and heads back in. She does her night time routine and gets into bed when her phone rings. She sighs not really in the mood to talk to anyone. For a brief moment she wonders if it's the blonde. But no it's her sister. 

"Hi'' she says trying to sound normal or her sister will suspect something is wrong. 

"Hey oh no what happened" Vanessa says. Laura rolls her eyes. 

"Nothing'' Laura lies. Though her sister will see right through her. 

"Don't lie to me Laura, what happened between you and Ross tonight?" Laura sighs.  That obvious it was him? 

"How do you know it's to do with him?" Laura wonders. 

"Really? You've had your cast night tonight and now you're upset. It's obvious Laur" Vanessa says and Laura knows she's smirking at her by using his nickname for her. 

"Yeah fine, we had a big argument, maybe unfixable argument, I don't know. I've stopped crying now so I don't really wanna talk about it" Laura Explains. 

"Fine but sister day tomorrow, I'll come over we'll do face mask and movie night with wine" Vanessa says knowing she won't get more out of Laura tonight. 

"Ok I have yoga in the morning or soon I guess since it's midnight but maybe do 4pm? Bring Ice cream and we'll order pizza'' Laura sighs. 

"Perfect. See you tomorrow." 

Her iphone pings with a new message. One simple text message. 

12.10am Ross Shor 

I'd burn for you 

|SUNDAY 7TH APRIL 2024|

Laura opens the door to her sister. She's embraced in a hug. 

"Hey" Laura gives her a small smile as much as she can muster up. She did not sleep last night. The words 'I'd burn for you' repeating over and over again in her mind. 

"I bought wine and Ben and Jerry's" Vanessa says with a smile holding up the bottle and tub. 

"I need it'' Laura sighs. 

"I can tell, you look shit" Vanessa says with a chuckle. 

Laura rolls her eyes and grabs two wine glasses and spoons. 

"Wild child?" Laura questions. 

"Sure, but first tell me what happened" 

Laura explained how they talked about boundaries and that she broke up with her boyfriend this morning. She had to it was only right. She went round to his. It was sad but he understood with their history. In time they maybe friends but she doubts it. 

"Damn Laura. Hey at least you're single and you and Ross can either sneak around like you used to or just finally be together" Vanessa says with a chuckle as Laura rolls her eyes. 

"We just can't be together'' Laura sighs. 

"I'll talk to him eventually though" Laura replies with a defeated look before starting the movie.
