Aizawa grunted as his annoying best friend followed him down the hallway. The day had passed in a flash and there were only fifteen minutes before the last block of the day, which was supposed to be at the USJ.

"What was that earlier?" Mic grabbed onto Aizawa's shoulder, pulling it back. "You were being nice to the new girl."

"I'm not an asshole, you know." Aizawa quipped.

"No, you were being nice for no reason." The loud man stopped, gasping all too dramatically in the middle of the hallway. "She's why you asked about breakfast places!"

Aizawa groaned and tried to duck further into his scarf. "She wanted to get breakfast." He responded, increasing his pace in an attempt to get away from Yamada.

"And you actually went?"

"I'm not an asshole, Yamada. I wasn't going to be mean on her first week here." He pushed his hair back, glaring at the yellow-haired man.

Yamada basically skipped to catch up to his gloomy friend, the widest shit-eating grin on his face. "You like her."

"Don't be ridiculous. I've only known her two days." Aizawa smacked his hand backwards to hit Yamada in the face. "She's just... not annoying."

"AKA, you like her." Yamada opened the front doors of the school as they stepped outside.

"No, Hizashi, I don't. She's a coworker. She's new. And she's not a complete nuisance. That's all." He sighed and started walking towards the bus. "Now shut up before she hears you and gets the wrong idea."

"So you care what she thinks?" He teased in response.

Aizawa didn't even respond, forcing his way though the crowd of students and standing at the front of the bus instead. Yamada was left all the way in the back of the crowd. His grin persisted, though, and Aizawa hated that he could still see it.

"Alright, we're heading to the USJ for your first combat practice of the semester." He moved aside as the door to the bus opened. "Don't be idiots and take your seats so we can get going."

The students filed into the bus, yammering on in excitement. Aizawa looked around the area, trying to spot all of the teachers meant to come on this trip with him. Yamada was there, Yagi was already on the bus, the only person that was missing was you. He chewed on the inside of his lip. You weren't the type to be late, were you?

Yamada walked up the front of the bus as the number of students thinned. "Looks like lover girl isn't here yet." He couldn't help but tease his best friend, even if the man didn't actually like you. It was just rare to see him be so transparent about the way he cared for someone. Even with his class, despite everyone knowing how much he cared, he was still outwardly mean to the kids most of the time. Or, apathetic at the least.

Finally, just before the last two students climbed onto the bus, you came running out the front doors of UA. Your hair was ruffled and you were panting as you jogged over to the bus, an apologetic look already stamped onto your usually bright features. "I'm so sorry!" You forced yourself to stand up straight and catch your breath.

"Don't beat yourself up, (L/N)! You made it on time." Yamada hit the back of your shoulder with a smile.

"I know, but I didn't want to keep you on your toes." You let your eyes meet Aizawa's. You flashed another apologetic smile.

Aizawa gestured for you and Yamada to get on the bus, following behind you as you did. "Don't be so late next time." He forced the words past his lips. It was a little mean, especially after you'd shown just how bad you felt about your lateness. But he was on edge after Hizashi's comments. Had he really been extra nice? Had he meant to be? The questions stirred in his chest as he took the seat beside you at the front of the bus.
