She was just a teenager when the world showed her its darkest side. Broken and scared, she built walls so high, she swore no one would ever get close-especially not a man. But life had other plans. Forced into a marriage with a stranger, she steppe...
"Ruhi, are you free tonight?" Dheer's deep voice filled the room as he stepped in, his eyes searching for hers.
Without missing a beat, Ruhanika shot back with a cheeky grin, "No, I'm going to Mars in search of water."
Dheer blinked, momentarily confused, before realizing her joke.
"Of course, I'm free. What's the matter?" she continued, grabbing a fresh set of clothes to change out of her office attire.
"Oh, uh, nothing major," Dheer stammered, rubbing the back of his neck. "Actually, we're having a little... meeting. So, if you're free, I mean, if you'd like to, can you come with me?"
"You're telling me now, Dheer?" she huffed, her voice laced with mock annoyance. "I need at least a month to gather my thoughts, choose a dress, pick accessories, and summon the willpower to attend any occasion."
Dheer's nervousness grew as he spoke in a single breath, "No, no! You don't have to worry about any of that. I've already prepared everything. It's just Dheeraj, Ishaan, Kush, Kian, and Ragini."
Ruhanika raised an eyebrow, walking toward the bathroom. "Huh. What kind of meeting is this? Sounds more like a kitty party." She disappeared behind the door, leaving Dheer scratching his head, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips.
Quickly, he arranged the bed with the outfits he'd carefully chosen—a red saree with intricate embroidery, matching bangles, a purse, and sandals. Alongside it lay a stunning off-shoulder dress with its own set of accessories. Satisfied, he knocked lightly on the bathroom door.
"Ruhi, I'm heading to the other room to get ready. Your dress and everything are on the bed," he called out before leaving.
RUHANIKA'S POV
Standing in front of the bed in nothing but a towel, my hair dripping water onto my shoulders, I stared at the two outfits.
One was a gorgeous red off-shoulder dress paired with matching heels and accessories—a complete, thought-out ensemble. The other was a saree, a traditional red masterpiece adorned with delicate embroidery. He even know my obsession with tiny jewelleries.
