—————————————————————————Authors note: I guess I some how forgot midoriya's name is Izuku. And the character being introduced this chapter is Izuka, with an a. I would just like to specify Izuka is a made up character, and does not cannonly exist. While Izuku midoriya does, and is in this AU just goes by midoriya, sorry for confusion <3
If you want to know more about Izuka I'd suggest looking at the chapter that says "get to know Izuka" it's a detailed explanation of his character.

The quiet of the Todoroki household was interrupted by a soft knock at the door. Shoto had just settled in his room, staring blankly at the ceiling as his mind raced with unanswered questions. The knock startled him out of his thoughts, and he sat up, his brows furrowing slightly.

It was late—too late for casual visitors. He stood and made his way to the door, his steps slow but steady. When he opened it, he was greeted by a familiar face.

Izuka stood there, hands shoved into the pockets of his jacket, his golden-amber eyes glowing faintly under the porch light. His spiky brown hair, with its signature yellow streak, was slightly messy, as though he had rushed over.

Izuka: "Hey, I hope I'm not bothering you."

Shoto blinked, his surprise masked by his usual stoic expression. He stepped aside, gesturing for Izuka to come in.

Shoto: "You're not. Come in."

Izuka stepped inside, his eyes scanning the living room as he shrugged off his jacket. He was taller than most, standing at 6'0, but still slightly shorter than Shoto. His build wasn't as muscular as Shoto's; his training didn't demand it. Izuka wasn't in the hero course but instead excelled in the support and analysis division. His quirk, Techno-Link, allowed him to mentally interface with and control technology. It wasn't flashy or destructive, but it was powerful in its own way, especially in the modern age of tech-reliant heroics.

Shoto led him to the couch, where they both sat in silence for a moment. Izuka was the first to speak, his voice gentle but curious.

Izuka: "I saw the news. It looked... intense. Are you okay?"

Shoto's mismatched eyes flicked to him, his expression unreadable.

Shoto: "I'm fine."

Izuka tilted his head, his golden eyes narrowing slightly.

Izuka: "Shoto, you can't fool me. I know you."

Shoto sighed, leaning back against the couch. He wasn't used to opening up, even to someone as close as Izuka. But there was something about Izuka's presence that made it easier—something grounding.

Shoto: "It was a calculated attack. The League of Villains wasn't just trying to cause chaos. They knew what they were doing."

Izuka nodded, his hands clasped in his lap.

Izuka: "And you were in the middle of it."

Shoto: "We all were. Midoriya, Bakugo, and I managed to hold them off until the pros arrived. But..."

He trailed off, his eyes narrowing slightly as he replayed the day's events in his mind.

Izuka: "But what?"

Shoto hesitated before speaking, his voice quieter.

Shoto: "It felt... personal. Like they weren't just attacking the school—they were targeting us."

Izuka frowned, his brows knitting together.

Izuka: "You think they're after you specifically?"

Shoto: "I don't know. But there's something about this that doesn't add up."

The room fell into silence again, the weight of Shoto's words hanging in the air. Izuka reached out, placing a hand on Shoto's arm.

Izuka: "Whatever happens, you're not alone in this, okay? You have people who care about you. Don't forget that."

Shoto glanced at him, his expression softening ever so slightly.

Shoto: "I know. Thank you."

Izuka offered a small smile, leaning back against the couch.

Izuka: "Man, you were great out there! I could never do that!"

Shoto arched a brow, giving him a subtle look of disbelief.

Shoto: "You're capable of more than you think. Just because you're not in the hero course doesn't mean you couldn't handle yourself."

Izuka laughed, waving a hand dismissively.

Izuka: "Yeah, yeah. But seriously, you're, like, crazy good. Watching you on TV? I was practically jumping off the couch yelling, 'That's my—'"

He cut himself off, clearing his throat awkwardly.

Shoto raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching ever so slightly, but he let it slide.

Izuka: "Anyway, the point is, you're amazing, and everyone knows it. Just thought you should hear that."

Shoto: "Thanks, Izuka."

Izuka grinned, leaning back into the couch with a dramatic sigh.

Izuka: "Man, hyping you up is exhausting. You better appreciate it."

Shoto's gaze softened, and for a fleeting moment, he let himself relax.

Shoto: "I do."

Izuka smirked, his energy filling the room with a warmth Shoto hadn't realized he needed.!
