The Arabs trace their lineage back to two primary sources: the Qahtani Arabs and the descendants of Isma'il (AS), also known as Adnani Arabs.
Ya'rib bin Qahtan
Ya'rib bin Qahtan is regarded as the "Father of Arabs." The term "Arab" is said to derive from his name, and the region itself was named after him. Historians believe that Qahtan was the grandson of Hud (AS), the prophet sent to the people of Aad in the city of Iram, located in modern-day Oman. Aad was a powerful civilization renowned for its grandeur but was destroyed by storms as punishment for their disobedience to Allah's message.
Surah Al-Fajr(89:6-13): Did you not see how your Lord dealt with 'Ȃd—˹the people˺ of Iram—with ˹their˺ great stature, unmatched in any other land; and Thamûd who carved ˹their homes into˺ the rocks in the ˹Stone˺ Valley; and the Pharaoh of mighty structures? They all transgressed throughout the land, spreading much corruption there. So your Lord unleashed on them a scourge of punishment.
Ya'rib bin Qahtan, a great-grandson of Hud (AS), migrated to Southern Arabia around 1500 years before Ibrahim (AS). This lineage is known as the Qahtani Arabs or the "original Arabs."Among the Qahtani tribes was the Jurhum tribe, who later played a significant role in the story of Isma'il (AS). Isma'il (AS) integrated into the Jurhum tribe, becoming a key figure and eventually one of their chiefs.

Building of the Ka'aba
The Ka'aba, the sacred House of Allah, was established as a center of monotheism. Allah commanded Ibrahim (AS) to lay its foundation in Makkah.
Qur'anic References to the Ka'aba
Surah Al-Hajj (22:26): And ˹remember˺ when We assigned to Abraham the site of the House, ˹saying,˺ "Do not associate anything with Me ˹in worship˺ and purify My House for those who circle ˹the Ka'bah˺, stand ˹in prayer˺, and bow and prostrate themselves.
Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:96): Surely the first House ˹of worship˺ established for humanity is the one at Bakkah—a blessed sanctuary and a guide for ˹all˺ people.
Makkah is also know as Bakkah(Hebrew language), reason for using Hebrew word in Qur'an is because in Torah and Gospel the name Bakkah is given.
The Historic Role of Ibrahim and Isma'il (AS) Ibrahim (AS) and Isma'il (AS) constructed the Ka'aba together. The Qur'an beautifully captures this moment:
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:127): And ˹remember˺ when Abraham raised the foundation of the House with Ishmael, ˹both praying,˺ "Our Lord! Accept ˹this˺ from us. You are indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:128-129): Our Lord! Make us both ˹fully˺ submit to You and from our descendants a nation that willsubmit to You. Show us our rituals, and turn to us in grace. You are truly the Accepter of Repentance, Most Merciful. Our Lord! Raise from among them a messenger who will recite to them Your revelations, teach them the Book and wisdom, and purify them. Indeed, You ˹alone˺ are the Almighty, All-Wise."
This heartfelt supplication anticipated the arrival of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), who would fulfill the mission of teaching and guiding humanity toward monotheism.
