„Once it's lights out, we need to take turns keeping watch," Gi-hun says. „I'll take the first watch. You should decide the order for the next."
I sit on a bed in our corner of the room now, after the others had taken the mattresses from some beds and put them under the beds. Sleeping on the floor, how nice.
But my Grandpa warned me about this, and if Gi-hun wouldn't have given the idea with the mattresses, I would have. He has lost his best friend the first time he played, too.

I was deep in restless sleep when I felt someone shaking my shoulder, firm but not harsh.
"Y/n, wake up."
My eyes shot open instantly, instincts kicking in before my brain could catch up. I blinked up at the figure towering over me, trying to adjust to the feeling of being awake again. I was sleeping so deeply, for some reason.
Young-il's face came into view, his sharp features as stern and unreadable as ever.
"It's our turn to keep watch," he said, his voice low, as though not to wake the others sprawled out on the bunks around us.
I groan quietly, pushing myself up on my elbows. My body felt heavy, muscles aching from the last game—especially my leg. But it definitely doesn't hurt as bad as before now. I rub at my temples, trying to shake off the fog exaustion.
"Hey Young-il... can't you maybe do it by yourself?" I grumble, sitting up reluctantly. "You seem like the type who thrives in silence and solitude."
He smirks. "And miss out on your sparkling personality? Never."
I roll my eyes, running a hand through my hair to smooth it down. He traces my movement, his eyes never leaving me. My whole body ached from the day's game and all the stress in general, and my brain was screaming for more sleep, but there was no arguing with Young-il when he decided something.
He slid onto the mattress, next to me, leaning back against the cold wall. Our shoulders were slightly touching now, and for a while, we just sat there, staring out at the dimly lit room.
"You're being quiet," he said after a moment, his tone casual but probing.
"And you're fishing for something." I shoot back, turning my head to look at him.
His lips curved into a faint smirk. "Just thinking about today."
"What exactly are you thinking about?" I ask, though I already know where this is going. The moment we had while the other teams were playing.
