Back in the dormitory, I gravitate towards Thanos's group again without hesitation, not wanting to deal with Young-il right now. Or maybe ever again.

Thanos grins as he sees me approach, leaning lazily against one of the bunks. „Ah, looks who's back again. A shame that the old man stole you from me earlier, missed the opportunity to be with you alone in a room..."

I make a face at this, disgusted. „Thanos, just shut up, please." I say, brushing past him and dropping onto the edge of a bunk.

He turns to face me, leaning against the frame of the bed with his arms crossed, his grin not faltering for a second. "Oh, I'm just saying. One minute you're his, the next you're back here. Feels like a win for me, doesn't it?"

"God, you're insufferable." I say, shooting him a glare.

Player 380 snorts from her spot on the other side of the bunk. "You really can't help yourself, can you?" she says, looking at Thanos. "He's been unbearable since you left, you know. Might as well just give him some attention so he shuts up." She looks at me with an amused look in her eyes.

"Yeah, listen to her, pretty." Thanos says, smirking at me.  "So, what's the deal? You here for good, or are you just passing through?"

"No," I say firmly, meeting his gaze head-on. "I'm not here for good. I'm still voting to leave later, unlike you."

Even though I've been playing with them and I still don't want to go back to my old team because of Young-il, I'll have to eventually. So I can't suddenly switch up and vote to stay like Thanos's group just because I'm hanging out with them now, otherwise Gi-hun is never going to trust me again. It would be causing unnecessary problems that I can't deal with right now.

The grin falters on his face for a fraction of a second before he recovers, arching an eyebrow. "Oh, so you're still one of those, huh?" he asks. "That's... pathetic, really."

I secretly agree with him, but don't say anything. Goddamnit, this is infuriating. The thought of someone else thinking of me as... pathetic. I'd have him on his knees panting for saying this to me in the outside world.

"You know, you're all so eager to survive these games and win the money that you've stopped thinking about what it's costing you." I say.

The room goes quiet for a beat, the others glancing between us.

"And yet," Thanos says slowly, his voice lower now, "you're still here. With us. Playing the game."

"Because I don't have a choice. It's you people who keep voting for us to stay, which is why I'm stuck here." I snap. "Don't act like that means I'm like you."
