That was the only way to put it.
Martha and Jonathan Kent tried for years to have a kid but neither could.
Then suddenly Martha didn't feel well and decided to take a test and it came back positive for the first time.
Six months later Savanah Kent was born but it was very touch and go at the beginning due to her being a preemie baby but somehow against all odds again Savannah survived.
Martha and Jonathan finally had the one thing they ever wanted.
A child.
Savannah Kent was everything to both of them.
She had both of them wrapped around her fingers from the day she was born and both knew that would never change.
In Smallville in October 1989 Martha and Jonathan went into town to get some flowers for Savannah who had begged them all week for some.
On the way home the family of three lives forever changed.
A meteor shower hit the small town and the three caught right in the middle of it.
The three were hit by pieces of the meteors when their truck flipped over and landed upside-down.
And that is when they saw him.
A naked little boy only seemed to be 2 or 3 years old.
Jonathan and Martha knew they couldn't keep him but Savannah knew she would never let them go.
She wanted a brother and she demanded that he was her brother. No one would take him from her.
And Clark didn't know much but he knew how to say Savy and knew that no one would ever take her away from him.
Jonathan remembered the two falling asleep clutching to each other on the couch and when Jonathan went to move Savannah to her bed Clark tightened his hold on her and wouldn't let her go.
Martha told Jonathan that night that by the way they acted, you would think they were two lost twins who were separated at birth.
Over a decade later nothing changed about the two relationships.
They acted more like twins than anything and were two halves of the same whole.
Savannah never cared where Clark came from or his powers.
All she knew was that he was birth and if anything happened to him then the world would know what the destruction of Savannah Kent felt like.
And vice versa.
But the perfect little small-town life the family of four had would soon change.
For the better or the worse is still to be determined.
But at least they had each other to eat.
