The Forgotten Gem

(3RD POV)

It was late at night as the Crystal Gems were sitting in a life raft in the middle of the ocean, all wearing life jackets because safety is really important as the only one that was missing was Garnet, who was nowhere to be seen.

Amethyst was holding Steven by the ankles as she was dunking him into the water as he was underwater now.

Basalt had put his whole head under the water as some bubbles came to the surface before popping.

And lastly, Pearl was looking over the edge of the raft, having some visible eye bags under eyes from the lack of rest they were getting as she seemed very annoyed by now.

Pearl(annoyed): Gah! This isn't getting us anywhere!

Amethyst: What's the matter, Pierogi? You tired?

Pearl: I don't get tired. I get results.

Basalt pulled his head out of the water as he was getting tired as well from all the searching.

Basalt: And from what we have now.....our results are nothing.

He said, slumping down a little as Steven started wiggling his legs, trying to tell Amethyst to pull him out as he needed air.

Amethyst: Was the sign for "pull me up" one wiggle or two?

She asks as the lack of rest had affected her as well. Pearl tells Amethyst and Basalt to stay focused as the purple Gem just shrugged and dropped Steven into water.

Pearl: For all we know, Lapis and Jasper's fusion could be right under our noses!

She said, using her glowing gem as a flashlight.....as something appeared out of the water, IT WAS MALACHI-no wait, it was just Steven.

He gasped for air as his life jacket helped him stay floating, spitting out a fish, he looked at Pearl.

Steven: This is why we wear life jackets.

He tossed the fish away as Garnet also emerged out of the water, picking Steven up as the two climbed back on the raft.

Garnet: Nothing.

She tossed Steven down as he began flopping around like a fish.......for some reason.

Pearl: Ugh! It feels like we've been searching for light years!

Amethyst: Uh, light years measure light, not years.

She corrected while poking Steven's stomach, causing him to spit out another fish as Pearl's patience was at its limit.

Pearl: Ugh! And I'm sick of these......life......diapers!

She complained as Steven got up and grabbed an extra life jacket to give to Garnet, who didn't have one.

Steven: Safety is no punchline, Pearl.

Basalt: Plus, I kinda like them.

Garnet: And safety is our job. We must find Jasper and Lapis. As it stands, their fusion is a ticking time bomb.

Garnet took the life jacket Steven gave her and threw it away, creating her own version of it to wear.......gotta stay drippy I guess.

Steven: Is......Lapis going to be okay?
