The Prophecy (James potter)

James couldn't understand what he was doing when he wrapped his pinky with hers. It was just a pinky but that was physical contact. Physical contact meant a lot to James. James was never deprived of it in fact his entire life he was surrounded by it. He loved it. Yet Aurora hated it but it was life breathing for them.

The moment he felt Aurora try to tug away that made him feel like everything was almost sucked out of him and everything almost stopped. Not even thinking about it he held onto her tighter. Refusing to let her pull away.

"Eric" a female voice interrupted James thoughts. He looked beside him thinking it was Aurora but he knew it wasn't. Looking behind a blonde female stood with a happy face. Two other females stood behind her gazing at the three of them.

"Dorothy?" Eric looked at her confused, like he couldn't understand what she was calling him for, but what from James could tell it was cause they both sleep toghther. "What are you doing?" Eric said throwing away his confusion. He quickly grew annoyed before he looked at Aurora.

"Well if you want to have sex with me, we could atleast hang out." Dorothy said which made James want to burst into laughter.

"Well that escalated quickly." He mumbled receiving an annoyed looked form Eric. But James also could help but cringe at her words. He remembered how Sirius had an one night stand and she had done the same.

Trying to wedge herself into their group all it took was her catching Sirius making out with another girl for her to go crying to him calling him a lying bastard.

"No." Eric said simply turning around already done worth his conversation with her and more then likely sleeping with her.

"Why not?" Dorothy whined like a child throwing a tantrum. "Because I don't want to." Eric said turning back to look at her.

"But you hang out with her." Dorothy said pointing to Aurora which made James and Eric stand up straighter and become defensive over the girl, James unknowingly tightened his pinky around her but not to the point it would hurt her.

James looked at the girl but she kept her gaze towards the courtyard not listening to what they were saying but James knew she was simply focusing on the rabbits running around.

"Don't bring her into this." Eric said sternly.

"So you two sleep together?"Dorothy questioned looking between them. She had a smirk on her face like she had just caught something that wasn't even there.

"They don't so can we just go now. I'm tired of hearing your voice and your whines. Haynes doesn't want you, he slept with you cause he was horny not cause you turned him on." James said rolling his eyes at the girl, he saw a flash of hurt in her face but he didn't care. She was picking on someone who wasn't even part of the conversation and he didn't even know the girl to care if he hurt her or not.

James also was already planning to prank her since he already knew she would start spreading rumors since the look she first gave Aurora. James quickly removed his pinky from Auroras before grabbing her wrist.

"I thought you liked Evans?" The voice behind him said. He didn't know who she was nor did he care but it seemed that voice made Aurora turn to look at the girl before looking at him. Maybe it wasn't the voice but maybe it was the question being asked.

A sharp pang went into Auroras heart. She didn't know what to think. She had talked to Alice about James and she realized she had liked him. It didn't help that he had kissed her and had held her and didn't want to let her go.

"Who I like is none of your business." Aurora tried to swallow what felt like a ball down her throat, a tight knot. All she wanted to do was yank her wrist out of his hand. "But no, I'm over Evans."

James looked at Aurora who was already looking at him. He smiled at the hope in her eyes making a part of him feel relief to know she liked him.

Aurora looked at Dorothy and Violet but before they both can say anything they all walked away.

"So no more Evans?" Erik asked looking at James who let out a small laugh. "Yeah. Her constant rejection just pulled me away and I felt like I kept losing confidence with that and eventually I lost interest." James said while he shrugged his shoulders and he wasn't lying he lost some confidence but what kept him grounded was his best friends.

Eric glanced at James who was looking at Aurora with a smile. He turned confused at the boys action, clenching his jaw. Eric slung his arm around Aurora making James let go of her.

James tried not to let it get to him since he was cool with Eric but he couldn't help the bitterness that crawled into his stomach. As they reached the great hall doors James heard his name being called. He didn't have to turn awakened to know who it was he immediately knew.

It was Sirius. Remus and Peter wouldn't yell his name across the hall. "See you later mate." Eric said giving James a nod while Aurora waved at him with a small smile.
