"Two more orders for wedding cakes have come in."
Su Yinyin accepted the deposits, recorded the accounts, and noted when the cakes would be needed.
Since the marriage ceremonies between the Cheng and Zhang families were completed, three or four families have come one after another to order wedding cakes from Hui Nu Pastry Shop.
Anyone who has tasted the wedding cakes made by Madam Su knows that the packaging is beautiful, and the ingredients are high-quality. The cakes are absolutely presentable.
Seeing the business growing more and more prosperous at home, the whole family was happy.
However, the more happy they were, the more glaring the Su family’s Pastry Shop in the north of the city became.
The drama surrounding the Su family’s shop had been circulating wildly, and it was said that the issue had not yet been resolved.
They had clearly planned to make a big profit before the New Year, but who would have thought such a scandal would occur? Many customers were now unwilling to enter the shop.
If not for some of the loyal regulars of the Su family, the shop might have had to close down.
Fortunately, most people didn’t know the connection between the two shops, otherwise, it would have affected Hui Nu Pastry Shop as well.
After all, who would expect a reputable shop to be involved in such a scandal?
Letting a woman be involved with two different families?
Su Yinyin originally thought this had nothing to do with their family.
Who knew that on the morning of the eighth day of the twelfth month, they would hear a commotion outside the door.
"Is this the place?"
"Yes, this is it. This is also a Su family shop. The real matchmaker is inside."
Madam Su furrowed her brows, feeling something was off. She quickly sent Yinyin to the back kitchen, then opened the shop door.
Though the shop usually had quite a few customers, it was the first time to see seven or eight people standing in front of the door.
"Where’s your matchmaker? Hurry up and come out."
Madam Su looked at the Eldest Sister-in-law hiding at the back and directly said, "Sister-in-law, what is the meaning of this?"
Just as Eldest Su’s Sister-in-law was about to leave, she was grabbed by someone. "Aren’t you going to explain yourself?"
In front of the small shop, there were seven or eight people crowding around, and passersby all stopped to listen to what was happening.
Even the neighboring sauce shop, which was still under renovation, couldn’t help but glance at Hui Nu Pastry Shop.
Su Yinyin, hearing the commotion, quietly slipped out the back door and asked the neighbors to go find her father.
Her father was on patrol and should be able to get there soon.
When Su Yinyin returned to the kitchen, she finally understood what was going on.
"Your sister-in-law said they aren’t proper matchmakers, that it’s your family who’s handling the matchmaking business."
"So, they want your family to give a fair judgment on which family that woman should be married to."
What!?
Su Yinyin was almost laughing from anger.
The big family’s shop had been using the guise of matchmaking to attract business, selling some pastries along the way.
