"If you guys never would have brought him here, this never would have happened. What were you thinking?! And bringing y/n here? Are you guys out of your minds?!" Mal yelled at Evie, Jay, and Carlos, who stared at the ground, avoiding her gaze.
"He was gonna come with or without us. We just wanted to protect him," Evie tried to defend.
"Yeah, and we completely blew it, guys," Carlos sighed.
"At least y/n's still here," Jay shrugged.
"Should I clap?" Mal snapped at him. "Carlos, seriously? Why did you agree to bring her along?"
"I didn't! She refused to stay behind while Ben came with us," Carlos replied. "Besides, we couldn't leave her alone."
"We couldn't leave her alone, or you couldn't leave her alone?" Mal asked snarkily.
"Okay!" y/n said, trying to diffuse the situation. "We can't undo what's done, so now we need a plan."
"Okay, so, what are we going to do?" Jay asked.
"'We' are not going to do anything," Mal said. "This is between Uma and me. And she's a punk. And guess what? Now I have to go get him."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Mal. You're still going to have to go through Hook and his wharf rats," Carlos said.
"Yeah, you're gonna need us," Jay told her.
"Uma said to come alone," Mal said.
"Mal, come on," Evie pleaded.
"She said to come alone," Carlos repeated with a sigh. "I know one thing. I'm not going anywhere," he said as he flopped onto the couch, pulling y/n with him. "And neither are you," he said to her.
"Wasn't planning on it," she replied.
"We'll be here when you get back," Jay assured Mal.
"Don't lose y/n while I'm gone," she commented snarkily before leaving the hideout and heading to Ursula's Chip Shoppe.
"I promise, she's not always like that," Evie told y/n.
In response, y/n chuckled. "I know. So, what do we do while we wait? How long is she going to take, anyway?"
"Knowing Uma, she'll probably make a twisted deal with Mal," Evie stated. "Let's just hope it doesn't involve you."
"Do you think they know she's here?" Carlos asked fearfully.
"Probably. Gil recognized her, and so did Harry." Evie sighed.
"Well, shit," y/n muttered, leaning against Carlos.
"We're gonna take a walk," Evie said, pulling Jay out of the tower.
"Wait, but-" Jay started, but Evie's sharp glare silenced him instantly.
'Thank you,' Carlos mouthed to Evie, who replied with a nod before she and Jay descended the tower.
"I'm sorry," Carlos said to her as he pulled her closer to him once they were alone. "This is all my fault."
Y/n shook her head. "No, it's mine. I shouldn't have come along. I should've stayed behind. Maybe then it would've been easier for you guys."
"No. In fact, I think it would've been harder. Mal wasn't far off when she asked if I couldn't leave you in Auradon. The truth is, I couldn't. I hate being away from you, so even if I told you not to come, I was secretly hoping you would," he admitted guiltily.
Y/n chuckled softly. "You're crazy, you know that?"
"And you love it, don't you?" he asked, placing soft kisses along the side of her face.
