IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY AND NICO HAS TO SPEND IT ALONE. Well, not that he has to; he chose to spend it alone. Lewis and Vivian had offered to take him on a friend date and he refused. They even sent him cards and his parents got him flowers. He tossed them out immediately when he found the gifts on his doorstep.
Getting gifts for Valentine's Day wasn't the same. It would never be the same. Not without Poe here.
He'd have to get over it soon. That there's a high chance Poe is never coming back. But Nico's stubborn and isn't going to give up hope. In nearly two weeks, it'll have been three months since the argument. Since Poe just walked out and took everything he owned with him, not even saying goodbye to Nico. Three months and Nico isn't sure how either of them had gone this long without going insane.
You two always find your way back to each other. Vivian, Lewis, and Keke, and Sina keep saying that, but Nico's not sure whether to believe it anymore. He's not sure how true it is anymore.
Maybe when the Formula 1 season starts, he'd forget about it.

March comes by faster than he'd like to admit. It's Lewis' first official season in Formula 1, and Nico doesn't know what to expect. No one knows what to expect from rookies. For instance, Nico's rookie year, last year, this past season, he hadn't done very well. Nico placed seventeenth in the championship with only four points. Mainly it was the car giving him trouble all season. And he just seemed to be rather unlucky during some of the races, especially at the Brazilian Grand Prix, the final race of the season. Going around one of the corners, Nico's FW28 managed to tap the back of the FW28 of his then teammate Mark Webber. Nico lost his front wing and Mark lost his rear wing. There had been a running joke from it afterward, where Webber had informed his engineers over the radio that "Britney's in the wall," after Nico had spun out and crashed his car straight into one of the barriers.
Mark had called him called Britney. After Britney Spears. He didn't understand it at first, not until the nickname started being used more. Britney. Because Nico's hair is too long and he's just too damn pretty for a guy.
Both of them were out for the rest of the race.
It had only been the first lap.
This year could be different than Nico's rookie year. Lewis' rookie year could end up a million times better. It's funny how it's always like that. Every year since that first time they met in karting, they'd always been fighting each other for the top spot. And now, now they're older, maybe not all that wiser or mature, but definitely more than they had been when they were kids. But this is their life now. Formula 1. Nico had gotten there first, and Lewis had followed right behind him. But they made it. Finally. A dream come true. But, admittedly, Poe isn't here to live out that dream with them.
