My stepfather.

Valeria: "I am so happy you came b***ch"

Me: "I missed you valz, thanks for always being there"

Valeria: "mi amor are you drunk?" She laughs "it's just a party babe it's nothing, I got you girl"

She yell in my ears while the music  echoes through my eardrums. She hugs me and I hug her back. She had no idea how much she just saved me from a huge crash out/depressive episode. This was exactly what I needed to distract myself from this living nightmare. She handed me a shot

Valeria: "To our friendship" we toasted and swallowed the shot. I immediately felt calmer and more relaxed. As I looked at my surroundings, val's apartment was quite the medium size. She had a huge balcony where everyone hung out and her living room was full of people. It wasn't a huge party, it was a relaxed one, with a lot of people that I knew from school. So it made me even more relaxed. We sat on the couch and I knew I was gonna have a good time. I definitely got drunk a little too fast with the amounts of drinks I was swallowing and the amount of j*ints I was sm*king. We all played carts in the living room while bopping to the music until I decided to go to the balcony to get some fresh air as it has been around thirty minutes that I've been inside and since the balcony was so crowded, I waited a bit for it to empty. So me and Val decided to go sm*ke a c*g outside and god I couldn't believe my eyes.

Outside,  was romeo and his whole group of guy friends who were all sm*king and getting drunk. I immediately pulled Val back inside

Me: "what the f*ck Val? You could've told me my litteral ex was here"

Val: "listen.. I couldn't not invite romeo, he's part of our friendgroup and I knew If I told you you wouldn't come"
Yeah she was definitely right!
"And also, I thought you could've squashed the beef with him! It's now or never"

Me: "but-"
And without even giving me time to answer, she pulled me outside where I stood in front this whole group of men with romeo staring at me with his eyes low and red. I knew, trust me I knew this was bad, but god I was so angry- so mad at james, I wasn't thinking straight I just wanted to forget about him for one night. I knew that romeo wasn't the solution but at that moment of weakness, he was all I had, so I agreed to go talk to romeo. When his friends saw me, they all looked at each other and pretended to go get drinks inside making everything so awkward. I glared a death look at Val almost threatening her not to follow them but of course:

Valeria: "Oh f*ck! I think I forgot my c*gs inside! Be right back hehe"

She didn't care and left.

Romeo: "d*mn what a plan" I laughed

Me: "Yeah well it definitely worked" we stayed quiet for a good five minutes awkwardly looking at the sky while the fresh breeze caresses my skin I close my eyes

Romeo: "so what brings you here, you didn't know i was here did ya? Well don't worry me neither"

Me: "Yeah I just wanted to chill a bit before summer ends"

He keeps staring at me and I avoid eye contact as I blush heavily.

Romeo: "you're gorgeous tonight"

Me: "romeo-"

Romeo: "don't- you don't have to say anything I just wanted to say it."

Me: "see, I love the sound of the waves that you can hear from here, and the warm breeze"
He passes me his j*int and I take a puff
And cough

Romeo: "I know that look, you okay?"
F*ck I felt so bad that he knew me so well, he just had to be so sweet to me and he was right, he knew when I wasn't good

Me: "you know it rom, the usual"

Romeo: "what about james?"
I take a huge gulp of my drink before answering

Me: "I guess you were right, I don't really like the way he controls me and takes this dad role seriously"

Romeo: "I'm glad you realized, If you need me I'm there you know that''

I stop looking at the beach and turns my face to him, our body is so close to each other, I don't feel anything towards him, that's the worse part. But I just wanted to forget
And that's when I made a mistake.
