"What the Hell Hazel you can't just leave me alone with her by myself," I said pointing back to the living room.
"Why not? You know you two want to get it on and I damn sure don't want to be here to hear all that," she said slipping on a sexier top.
"No, we're not. I'm not going to let myself do anything with Dylan. We can't. I only brought her home so she could sober up. Then she's going to go home and we're going to be done with each other. It's what we both want."
Hazel sighed heavily and turned to face me. "Jade, Twinny, The originator. Please just stop Ok? You and Dylan are perfect together. She likes you, accepts you for who you are stud or fem, she puts up with you and your attitude, she goes out her way to do things to make sure you're happy, and she isn't afraid to put you in your place."
I sat down on the bed and put my head in my hands. "Don't you think I know all that? I knew I liked Dylan from the moment I spilled my coffee on her. It doesn't matter Hazel I can't be with her. I'll only wind up hurting her again."
"Jade, Dylan knows. I told her everything about our parents and why you keep holding yourself back. She knows about the whole stud thing and you know what. She said she doesn't care. She says she's not trying to push you out of the closet. She is willing to date you on your terms Jade."
"You Whattttt!!! You Told Her that??? What that Hell Hazel? Why would you do that?" " I yelled feeling betrayed.
"Because I'm your sister and I hate seeing you heartbroken and all depressed because you can't be with her. I hate seeing Dylan sad too. She's a really good person Jade. She likes you and cares about you and no matter how much you've hurt her she still goes out of her way to make sure you're happy. She thought you didn't want to be with her because she was poor. She deserved to know the truth that it wasn't because of her status. But because you're protecting your family."
I knocked her stuffed animals off of her bed in anger. "Ughhh. That doesn't matter Hazel. It wasn't your place to tell her. If I wanted her to know about my personal life I would have told her. God your my Twin. You're supposed to understand how I feel and be there for me."
Unphased by my outburst Hazel walked over and started picking her stuff up. "I am being there for you Twinny. Even if you don't see it now and it makes you mad at me right now you know I have your best interest at heart. Think about what she did for you today. Nobody does stuff like that for someone they don't care about. Even if Dylan says she's over you it's more than obvious she's not. So stop fighting it."
"Oh yeah, you both care oh so much. Then why when I tell her about what happened to me? She gives me a whole standing ovation like she just saw Hamilton or something. Yaw both laugh at like that shit wasn't traumatic as hell for me. I could have ruined my whole basketball career."
Hazel put her teddy bears down and bent down to look in my eyes. "What Jade, common you can't be serious. You know we were both joking. You know I care because I was there and crying the whole time. You can't blame Dylan for her reaction either she's drunk she probably didn't pick up on how emotional it made you feel," Hazel replied defending her.
"Whatever," I scoffed still feeling hurt by the fact. "Drunk or not if she knows me oh so well and gets how I feel she should have picked that up."
I know that technically Hazel was right. Dylan did seem a little concerned in the beginning. Maybe I was just looking for an excuse for Dylan to be the bad person. Maybe I was displacing my anger for myself on her. But I couldn't turn off how I felt. I had so many emotions crashing down on me at once and anger just seemed to be easier to handle than the other ones.
