Ophelia's POV
After absolutely no sleep last night, I decided to give up and start getting ready an hour early. I take a long shower, not focusing on the fact that my music is pretty loud.
As I feel the hot water drip down my body, my thoughts continue to circulate the same topic they have all night: Thea.
Are we really that surprised? No, not at all.
The thoughts in my head are extremely conflicted and I regret promising to pick Thea up for school. Especially because Orion's gonna be with us and he is his own kind of something.
A part of me knows we should talk about it, and another part of me hopes it never gets brought up. Maybe if we do talk about it, she'll say it is what she wants. To be with me. But what if we talk about it and it really did make her uncomfortable and she says she never wants to be around me ever again.
Therefore, here I stand in scalding water hoping that it might just make me pass out and I won't ever have to face the music. Wishful thinking at it's finest.
After a while, I decide my plan isn't going to work so I grab a towel and step out of the shower. I turn down my music a little before sitting on the toilet lid and scrolling for a bit. I'm going to need an energy drink or two if I'm going to make it through today.
A text pings on my phone.
Thea: Lmk when ur picking me up :)
Yeah, I might need 3 fully caffeinated drinks. Fuck.
I glance at the clock on my screen; almost time for me to have gotten up. I stand from the toilet, still wrapped in my towel, and position myself in front of the mirror. I stare at my wet hair and the few water droplets still dripping down my arms.
The thoughts I've been trying to suppress come back to the front of my mind. Maybe it can't hurt to think about her a little bit, right?
I close my eyes as my hand slowly makes its way down my body and passes through the gap in my towel.
The image of Thea's quickening breath and thigh under my grasp appear at the forefront of my mind. I picture the way her eyes couldn't decide between staring at my mouth and my eyes, the way her tongue continually flicked across her pink lips, moistening them.
When her tongue wasn't make its way across her lips, her white teeth sunk into them, tugging slightly. The action makes me remember how badly I wanted to sink my teeth into her. Anywhere.
I suck in a breath of air and hold back a noise, starting to quicken my pace.
I remember the feeling of her nails digging into my bicep, a movement I'm sure she wasn't aware of, the red and purple crescent grooves still visible. I gently trace my hand over them, remembering the sharp pain that Thea seemed to turn to pleasure in that moment.
The divots under my finger tips only make me hotter and bring more images to mind.
I ghost my fingers over my lips and think of the way her breath scattered across them with each inch I got closer to her. The way her breath became faster and the way she seemed to loose control of her senses by the second, like they were increasingly become to intense.
Swiftly moving my hand to cover my mouth, I feel my muscles begin to tighten. I lean against the counter and bite my bottom lip as hard as I can.
Finally, I think about what might've happened if the car alarm hadn't gone off. If we had been able to meet in the middle and maybe continue on from there. The image of moving my hand farther up her thigh, moving my other up to her neck and pulling her in. The feel of her lips on mine and the heat between us.
