Song: Desi boys🎶

I had one goal when we arrived at the farmhouse-food.

The sun was dipping into the horizon as Zian, Faraz, and I stepped out of the car, stretching from the long drive.

The estate was already buzzing with the early preparations for the gathering, but more importantly, the smell of something delicious drifted from the kitchen.

"Finally," I sighed, inhaling deeply. "I can already taste the biryani."

Faraz snorted. "It's not ready yet. You just inhaled air."

"Air that smells like happiness," I shot back. "Unlike your presence, which smells like disappointment."

Zian ignored both of us, already making his way inside with his usual no-nonsense expression.
That man had the personality of an old, grumpy cat, but I had to give him credit-he knew how to tune us out like a professional.

We entered the main sitting room, where, as expected, Dada Jaan and Azlan were already seated. Azlan looked as brooding as ever, staring into his chai like it had personally offended him.

I grinned. "Salaam, Dada Jaan. Salaam, oh great CEO of the century."

Dada Jaan gave us a warm smile, but Azlan? He didn't even glance up.

Faraz flopped onto the couch, stretching his arms. "You look worse than usual, Azlan. That bad, huh?"

Azlan shot him a look so sharp that even Faraz reconsidered his life choices for a second.
But then Dada Jaan chuckled.

And when Dada Jaan chuckled, you knew something interesting was about to drop.

"So," he said casually, picking up his chai again. "Have I told you boys what Azlan did this week?"

Azlan's jaw twitched. "Dada Jaan-"

But it was too late.

Dada Jaan's eyes twinkled mischievously. "He carried a girl in his arms."

Silence.

Then-

Faraz choked on absolutely nothing.
Zian, who had been scrolling through his phone, actually blinked.

And I?
Well, I had never been more awake in my life.

Azlan let out a slow breath, as if physically restraining himself from committing murder. "It's not what it sounds like."
