High above the clouds, beyond the reach of the mortal world, two men sat across from each other on a set of tatami mats. The sky stretched endlessly around them, bathed in a serene golden glow. A simple wooden table stood between them, adorned with a teapot and two porcelain cups.

One of the men was a young high school student with black hair and blue eyes, still clad in his school uniform, his expression calm despite the surreal circumstances.

Opposite him sat an elderly man with a long white beard, dressed in flowing celestial robes. In his hand was a steaming cup of tea, with the words "God" boldly inscribed on the side.

God: "I'm terribly sorry about this, but... you're dead."

A sheepish chuckle escaped his lips as he rubbed the back of his head.

God: "I, uh... made a bit of a blunder and accidentally dropped some lightning on the world below. Didn't think anyone would be standing right where it landed. Truly, my bad."

The young man stared at him for a moment, then exhaled through his nose.

Y/n: "...Wow. That's rough."

A long pause.

There was a long pause and the deity shifted uncomfortably, clearly expecting shock, panic, or outrage.

God: "Uh... L/n?"

Y/n: "Yeah?"

God: "You... you're taking this pretty well."

Y/n: "Should I be freaking out?"

God: "I mean, that's the usual reaction, yeah."

Y/n: "I dunno. Maybe it just hasn't hit me yet. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm sitting here talking to, well... you that makes it easier to believe."

He sighed, running a hand through his hair.

Y/n: "Still, dying at seventeen? Feels like I got booted from the game before I even reached the good part."

God: "Yes, well... that's precisely why I called you here."

God cleared his throat, his expression growing a bit more serious.

God: "Since your death was, ah... let's call it an oversight on my part, I figured it's only fair I make it up to you."

Y/n leaned forward, resting an elbow on the table.

Y/n: "You're saying that like you're about to offer me something cool."

God: "How about... a second chance? A new life in another world. Call it a divine compensation package."
