Hestia sat behind Y/n, her small hands pressed against his back as she examined his newly inscribed Falna. She expected basic stats, maybe a decent starting skill considering his potential.
But the moment she saw what was written, she froze.
Hestia: "Th-This... This isn't possible!"
Bell, who had been watching eagerly, jumped at Hestia's outburst.
Bell: "Lady Hestia? What's wrong?"
Y/n, hearing the shock in her voice, turned his head slightly.
Y/n: "Is something weird on there?"
Hestia stared at his status, reading it over and over again, but nothing changed.
Hestia: "You just got your Falna...How do you already have a skill?! That's not supposed to happen!"
Bell's red eyes widened in amazement.
Bell: "W-Wait! That means Y/n is amazing, right? Normal adventurers don't start with skills!"
Y/n frowned, his mind racing. And then, as he processed Hestia's words...
Y/n's thoughts: "This must be the ability I received before reincarnating."
His gaze sharpened slightly.
Y/n: "Alright, let's see what's got you so worked up."
Hestia took a deep breath, then began reading aloud.
Skills: The System
A mysterious ability that grants the user an advanced form of self-growth, enabling a game-like interface that tracks progress, assigns quests, and provides rewards based on achievements. The user can view their own status in real-time and receive missions that accelerate their development.
The room fell silent as the weight of the words sank in.
Hestia: "This... I've never seen anything like this before. Not even among the strongest adventurers. Skills are supposed to be rare, something you earn over time... but this..."
She narrowed her eyes.
Hestia: "Where did this come from?"
Y/n's expression remained neutral, but inside, he was piecing everything together. He knew exactly where it came from. God gave this to him. But how was he supposed to explain that?
He decided to tread carefully.
Y/n: "Maybe it's just a weird blessing? You said Gods sometimes give unique abilities, right?"
Hestia frowned, not fully convinced.
Hestia: "Yes, but a skill appearing at level one is unheard of."
She looked at the status again, as if expecting it to change under her gaze.
Hestia: "It's almost like... this skill was given to you before you even got my Falna."
Y/n forced a casual shrug.
Y/n: "Well, if it's useful, I won't complain."
Hestia gave him a long, unreadable look before sighing.
Hestia: "You're awfully calm about all this."
Bell tilted her head curiously.
Bell: "Maybe Y/n was already strong before coming to Orario?"
