Kaveri was sitting there. Vijay was standing beside Kaveri. Suddenly, Kaveri hugged Vijay. Kaveri's head was in Vijay's stomach. Vijay caressed Kaveri's hair. They feel their safe embrace. They want to stay like this for eternity.

After a some more minutes, they heard a someone's footsteps. They separated.

In the hospital room, the steady beeping of the heart monitor echoed softly, blending with the faint hum of the air conditioner. Narmada lay on the bed, her face pale but peaceful. The dim glow of the bedside lamp cast a warm yet solemn light over the sterile white walls. The scent of antiseptic lingered in the air, a constant reminder of where they were.

Vijay and Kaveri stood by her side, their eyes filled with concern. They had been by her side ever since she was admitted, their own exhaustion evident in the way their shoulders drooped. The doctor, a middle-aged man with sharp yet kind eyes, finished checking Narmada's vitals before turning to them.

D- "She's stable now,"

he reassured them.

D- "She needs complete rest. Don't disturb her for the next three hours."

Kaveri exhaled in relief, her tense shoulders relaxing slightly. Vijay, though relieved, remained silent, his gaze fixed on Narmada's face. He couldn't shake the feeling of helplessness that always crept in when he saw a loved one in pain.

The doctor placed a gentle hand on Vijay's shoulder.

D- "You both should get some fresh air. Sitting here worrying won't do you any good. Let her rest."

Vijay nodded hesitantly.

V- "Thank you, doctor."

As the doctor left, an eerie silence settled in the room. The rhythmic rise and fall of Narmada's chest were the only signs of movement.

Vijay turned to Kaveri.

V- "Kaveri, nama konja neram veliya poittu varalama?"

She hesitated, her eyes flickering back to Narmada, as if afraid to leave her even for a moment. But deep down, she knew the doctor was right. They needed a break.

K- "haan.... Okay,"

she murmured.

Without another word, they stepped out of the room, leaving behind the quiet hum of machines and the steady rhythm of Narmada's breathing.

The hospital corridors were dimly lit, the soft hum of machines filling the silence as Vijay and Kaveri stepped outside. The crisp night air wrapped around them as they walked towards a small tea shop just across the hospital. The tension of the past few hours lingered between them—concern for Narmada, the exhaustion of the day, and something unspoken yet deeply felt.
