Benjamin Barnes, professionally known as Ben Barnes, is an English actor and singer best known for his roles as Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia, Logan Delos in Westworld, The Darkling in Shadow and Bone, and Billy Russo in The Punisher. I'm not so sure if he's popular on here, but he is kind of the token favorite in a lot of fantasy fc areas on Tumblr based on what I've heard. Either way, he is in this section for a reason and, based on the content warning and the general purpose of this book, you can probably guess why.

Ex-followers of Ben Barnes on Instagram had found that he had been liking pro-Israel and pro-genocide posts. One of these posts is a video about the moral differences between Israel and Hamas with these "moral differences" boiling down to being that Palestinian lives don't matter as much as those of colonists. The post called the loss of Palestinian lives "collateral damage" compared to the ones of Israelis and continued to spread the "Hamas beheaded children" lie, a lie that has been investigated and proven to be a myth. While Ben hadn't made explicitly Zionist posts on his social media to my knowledge, liking posts such as the one screenshotted at the end makes it pretty clear what he believes in.

Outside of Zionism, Ben had his skin purposefully darkened to play Alejandro, a Colombian character, in the 2013 film The Big Wedding, Ben is a white man from England and, although white Latinos exist, the movie made it explicitly clear that his character was "not caucasian" through racially-charged language and jokes made by characters. People say that he seems uncomfortable in interviews whenever that movie is brought up, but he hasn't made any public apology to my knowledge.

If the Zionism and blatant racism weren't enough to make him problematic, then I hope to GOD this does: Ben Barnes had explicitly made out with Bella Hadid in a sexualized photoshoot back when Bella was 16-17 years old. He was 32 at the time. Not only that, but he called this CHILD "sexy" and the photoshoot "romantic." Yikes.
