Requester: Me
Character: Kyle Stack & Finn SharkeyY/n Y/l/n stood at the school gates of Waterloo Road, her heart thudding in her chest as she watched Kyle Stack and Finn Sharkey squaring up to each other. Their shouts echoed across the playground, drawing a crowd of eager onlookers. She knew this was her fault, well, sort of. She never asked them to fight over her, did she?
"You think you're better than me, do ya?" Kyle sneered, his posture rigid, shoulders squared. He was all bravado, with that familiar glint of trouble in his eyes. His Mancunian accent was rough, a sharp contrast to the softer tones of his rival.
Finn rolled his eyes, his lips curling into a cocky grin. "I don't need to think it, mate. I know it," he shot back, his voice smooth with a cocky swagger. He ran a hand through his messy hair, his easy confidence only winding Kyle up more.
"Oh, pack it in, both of ya!" Y/n shouted, striding over to them, her arms folded tightly across her chest. She'd had enough of their posturing. "You're actin' like kids."
Kyle's expression softened when he looked at her, his anger melting away. "Y/n, I... I just don't get why you'd waste your time with him. He's all talk."
"And you're all fists, Kyle," she retorted, her gaze unwavering. "That's the problem."
Finn smirked, stepping closer to her. "You deserve better than some angry thug who can't control himself."
Kyle's fists clenched. "Say that again, Sharkey."
Before she could blink, Kyle lunged, his temper getting the best of him. Finn was ready, dodging and shoving him back. It was chaos, pushing, shoving, fists flying. Y/n's heart raced as she tried to get between them, but they were both too stubborn, too proud.
"Stop it!" she yelled, her voice cracking. "You're both idiots!"
At that, they froze, still glaring at each other, chests heaving.
Y/n looked between them, her eyes stinging. "You're both fightin' to be the better bloke, but this? This just proves neither of you are."
She turned on her heel, storming away. Finn moved to follow, but she held up her hand, stopping him in his tracks. "I need time. To think. To figure out if either of you are worth it."
Kyle's shoulders slumped, his anger replaced by guilt. Finn looked down, his cocky façade fading.
As Y/n walked away, her heart ached. She didn't know who she'd choose. Kyle, with his fierce loyalty and vulnerability he hid so well, or Finn, whose charm could make her laugh even on her worst days. But she knew one thing for certain, if they couldn't grow up, she wouldn't choose either of them.
