Streisand Effect

A year ago.

As I step into my final year of law school, I feel a sense of bittersweet nostalgia. The memories of late-night pizza parties, frantic exam cram sessions, and lively debates with my classmates are still fresh in my mind.

But now, the reality of graduation looms ahead, and I'm faced with the daunting task of launching my career as a lawyer. 

My heart racing, I wonder if I'm truly ready to take on the challenges of the legal world. Yet, as I look around at my fellow students, I'm reminded that I'm not alone in this journey. 

Despite the uncertainty, I feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. I'm eager to delve deeper into the nuances of the law, to hone my skills as an advocate and counselor, and to start forging my own path in the legal world. 

I know that this final year will be a time of growth, of exploration, and of discovery, and I'm ready to take on the challenges that come with it.

"Lauren!" 

Para akong bumalik sa present time sa boses nya — smile immediately spread across my face when i lay my eyes on her. "Hey Aileen!" 

Elaine roll her eyes while walking towards me in the hallway. "Elaine, not Aileen!" 

Nakalapit na kami sa isa't isa. 

"Eh irambol mo yang name mo, yang Aileen ang labas." Pang-iinis ko lalo kay Elaine. 

Not that she hates the name — kasi pangalan ng Author yan but the fact na ako lang ang nakakagawa nyan sa kanya — ang inisin sya. 

Elaine is a very prominent respectable figure here at school because she is a Borbon. 

The Borbon Clan is a wealthy and influential family. They have a significant impact on business, politics, and society. Their wealth comes from real estate, banking, and industry. They contribute to education, health, and culture. They have a strong presence in government and politics. Despite controversies, they remain a respected family. Their legacy continues to shape society.

Elaine sneak her arm around mine. "And Good morning to you too." 

Natawa ako. "Good morning." 

At naglakad na kami papunta sa room namin. Wind is cold that it hurts my cheek.

"Late ka ata?" Takang tanong nya sakin.

"Walang masakyan." Sagot ko naman. "May strike diba?" 

And as if Elaine remembered. "Oh shit — Oo nga pla! Eh bakit hndi mo sinabi sakin kahapon? Sana sinabay na kita." 

Sinasabay ako ni Elaine sa school kapag tinopak ang kotse ko at ayaw mag start ng engine pero may time na nakakaramdam ako ng hiya — since medyo busy din si Elaine sa business nila. 

Yes at the young age ay active na sya sa family business nila. 

Ganon ata pag mayayaman? Bata palang ay business minded na since Elaine is the only child. 

"Hayaan mo na." I told her. "Hinatid naman ako ni Papa." I look at her sideways though. "Ikaw nga ang aga mo eh." 

"Yeah.." Elaine show me her white and perfectly teeth. "Maaga nagising —" 

"Or hindi natulog." I corrected. 

I know this girl, i know that smile — She won't fool me. 

"I went to a movie with Kade." She gently tag at my arm.

My eyes roll at the back of my head. "Movie date."

"Oo no—" She whisper firmly. "I got bored last night kaya tinanggap ko ang invitation ni Kade."
