It's been an entire week, and everything is finally starting to go back to normal.
The Y2K virus is finally over, and while they initially promised that they would fix it immediately, it ended up taking nearly a week to resolve.
But now, things seem to be running smoothly again, and the worst of it is behind us.
The people in town are working hard to fix everything that was damaged, and we're all pitching in to get things back to the way they were.
Fortunately, Lukas's house didn't suffer any major damage. Some lights and appliances were broken, but that's nothing compared to what others are dealing with.
It's heartbreaking to see the homes in the neighborhood that were destroyed, many of them burned to the ground.
Families have lost everything inside their homes, and the devastation is hard to comprehend.
The entire community is trying to pick up the pieces, but the scars from this disaster will take a long time to heal.
On a brighter note, school is back in session. It feels like everything happened so fast, but here we are, back at it.
Lukas drove us to the university this morning, which felt oddly normal despite everything that happened.
Still, I can't shake the memories of what happened last Monday night.
It's hard to forget what Remi and I went through, and I know I'll be thinking about it for a long time.
I've gotten to know him a little more over these past few days, and honestly, there's something about him being annoying that I kinda like.
I don't know what it is-don't judge me, okay?
Class seems pretty normal now, and thank goodness the video of me and Louis was finally taken down from Facebook.
That was such a relief. The whole ordeal was embarrassing, but at least that's over now.
At lunch, everything felt just like it always does-nothing out of the ordinary.
But then, as I was getting my food, someone tripped me. It happened so fast, and I ended up on the floor.
When I looked up, it was Dominic. He immediately apologized, saying it was an accident and that he didn't mean to do it.
But of course, my food was now all over the floor, ruined.
He insisted he could buy me lunch again to make up for it, and I thanked him.
He apologized one more time before I could even respond.
And then, out of nowhere, he said something unexpected...
"May activity daw sa pool mamaya ah, for Physical Activity"
Jeez, I totally forgot about that! I was so caught up in everything with the Y2K stuff that I completely spaced on bringing my swimsuit.
How did I not think of that?
Of course, Dominic noticed right away and, being his usual self, he teased me a little.
He said, "No worries, I've got an extra swimsuit you can borrow."
I was kind of surprised, so I asked, "Really?" and immediately thanked him, but then I started overthinking it.
"But isn't it kind of weird to wear someone else's swimsuit?"
I wasn't sure how I felt about that. It felt a little odd, even if we were close back in 10th grade.
